A lot of people need to take a deep breath.

>>> Another stinkin cheat and crook.

How is one either a cheat or a crook by virtue of asking registered voter to cast their ballots in your behalf ? And them actually doing so.

>>> How can anyone do what she did and call herself a winner?

The same way Joe Lieberman did. I remember it well. We loved it then.

>>> she will probably win and then caucus with the Dems

There is no basis to think that. She has been explicit in saying she will remain a republican. Assuming a republican senate year in 2012, there is even less sensible cause to think she would join the soon to be minority.

>>> She may have her win here (and be despised by most Americans)

You think MOST Americans even know her name? Much less care enough to hate her ? Seriously ?

I said this in another thread, but from what I can tell most if not all of those 40,000 had already been counted before. Now they went through to address the ones marked for Write-In.

Lisa is technically not a Democrat.

You are quite right about that. She is not a legal Dem, she is a common-law Dem or a living-in-sin Dem.

A Dem in all but name. And while I wouldn't say the GOP is immaculate, I tend to see Dem rats when election shenanigans get really bold in broad daylight!

None of these numbers are matching up. As of the close of the day Monday, counting contested ballots, Murkowski had 92,164 and Miller had 90,458, according to the news reports. So I’m not sure where you’re getting the extra 9000 or so votes for Murkowski.

And the reports said that the counting of the absentee votes was just to begin on Monday.

So the accounts are not matching up. Makes it a lot easier to cheat if nobody knows what the heck is going on. These reporters need to get it straight, and if the election officials won’t give it to them straight then we have a problem.

Not to mention she wrote an amendment to reign in the EPA from their rewriting of the clean air act and shutting down refineries in Texas. That amendment failed on mostly stupid Dem votes (like my two worthless VA senators) but also some “republicans” as well. If we can get a real bill to stop the EPA tyranny from her, it will be no small thing.

There is nothing any more fishy than when Lieberman won as an independent in CT.

As I said I hate what Murkowski did, but that isn’t corruption. Winning by write in is quite an accomplishment.

Miller didn’ty handle that stupid computer “scandal” well and obviously a lot of democrats voted for Murkowski as well.

Snips from late last night ADN.com article:

The Murkowski campaign is all but claiming victory as Sen. Lisa Murkowski leads Joe Miller by more than 1,700 votes after Monday's review of write-in ballots.

The Division of Elections has now counted 92,164 votes for Murkowski and 90,458 for Miller. Murkowski's number will grow as the state continues to go through write-in ballots today, looking to see what name voters wrote on them.

More than 8,000 write-in ballots remain to be looked at. The trend since counting began last week has been for the Division of Elections to count more than 97 percent of them for Murkowski.......

Miller was hoping to get a boost from absentee ballots. But Monday was the last big count of absentees and there turned out to be more write-ins than Miller votes.

Only about 600 absentee ballots remain to be counted later this week from military and overseas addresses, according to the Division of Elections.

end snips

102,000 ballots marked “Write-In”
92,000 ballots counted for Murkowski (85,000 uncontested)

That’s why the difference in numbers (all of mine rounded for simplicity). As for the absentee ballots, some districts counted theirs starting last week and just added in others as they arrived since then, while other districts didn’t count any at all until Monday the 15th so that they could do it all at once. Joe was hoping to pick up votes Monday with absentees, but instead it looks like “write-in” picked up a lot of votes due to some very strong Murkowski districts doing initial absentee tallying yesterday.

The math is looking pretty near impossible for Joe as of this point. If Murkowski gets 90% uncontested of the last 10,000 write-ins, she’ll total well more than enough uncontested votes to beat Joe.

I appreciate your honest post. You are the only one to believe that Miller may have lost because of his problems. All the others blame Lisa. I live in Alaska and Miller made this election about Miller to the extent that the tea party talking points were a distant second on the agenda. Thanks for your post. tk

Why don’t you take your oh so off the mark remarks and stuff them. Your remarks are designed to agitate; so please take them and yourself to another forum.

We don’t need or want people with attitudes especially those who have already defeated themselves.

In other words; GET LOST...

Please keep in mind that just about all of the MSM and newspapers from Anchorage are Alaska’s version of Baghdad Bob.

Its a fact they received a SIZABLE amount of monies from her campaign.

“You are quite right about that. She is not a legal Dem, she is a common-law Dem or a living-in-sin Dem. “

but she probably doesn’t have a voter fraud machine behind her, especially since he was running as a write-in.

Unfortunately yes... She is after all a US Senator (represents all of the States - supposedly), so yes, her ideals matter.

Her ideals are specific only to Alaska, not for America. She is suppose to be looking out for America first - then Alaska. Not such a strong suit of hers...
