Found the locater image.

Looks like the missile launch distance between Palos Verdes and the inhabited part of Catalina Island are about the same. Would give the observation edge to Palos Verdas considering that most of the population of Catalina Island are located on the eastern side of mountains. There are hills in Palos Verdas, but most of those large estates are on top of the hills.

Are you referring to Palos Verdes on Catalina Island or Rancho Palos Verdes on the mainland? And is Catalina Island closer to the launch site than LA and the camera man? If not, any observations, cams in Palos Verdes?

See image above. We always just called it Palos Verdas referring to the hills south of Torrance. Worked out of an office in Torrance for a few years myself. It is the Palos Verdas Estates and Rancho Palos Verdas proper. Just west of where the professional high tech news helicopter filmed the event from over the Los Angeles Harbor.

Right now just trying to verify the hard core Helicopter timeline we may have discovered last night.

You have a video that you are interpreting as a rocket launch, your interpretation has no data or proof behind it.

Tons of proof. You live in denial. Go away. Stay on the Fantasy Island threads.

Not a lie, not evidence.

Lie, Lie, Lie. And you had security clearances. Yikes !

We have shredded the plane argument completely. It is over. Get over it.

Awesome! You want to criminally charge people who disagree with your goofy theory, then you officially declare the debate closed without a single shred of verifiable proof. How long have you been a Freeper, Mr. Gore?

Look out!! There's a Chinese submarine behind you!! And the Russians have replaced your local sheriff with an exact cyborg replica with evil intent.

You planers all have reading comprehension problems. I stated about three times now, if it turns out that the missile launcher was a foreign entity, then I would report his behavior as treason. Read that three times now so you get right, okay ?

Glenn Beck is now on board the missile ship as is World Net Daily. They both reported extensive military contacts as the source for their opinions.

How long have you been a Freeper, Mr. Gore?

Wow. I have been accused of being Al Gore. My. My. You must have spent a whole lot of time around here. Hey guy. World Net Daily is reporting pentagon contacts who state the decision to cover up the missile with the stupid plane theory had to come from the Commander in Chief. You are following Obama's orders. Hope you like where that takes ya.

Now perhaps this will jog you out of your stupor. President Obama gets shellacked in an election. Leaves with a huge entourage. Everyone wonders why he is taking almost his entire governing staff ? A couple of days later a missile is launched off Los Angeles. Wow. What a flipping coincidence. Then Obama finds out the missile attack failed and he orders a coverup that only the three stooges would buy. What a flipping coincidence. Do you see where this is taking you now ? Not saying that is what happened, but it is possible. You just might want to hedge your bet a little bit. Later.

It rained in Florida yesterday and Michelle Obama now wants salad bars in schools. I guess that's just a coicidence! While the euro drops at the same time!

Seriously, your arguments are just bizarre.

And WND is on board now! That cinches it. They're the same kooks who spent a year urging their readers to build bunkers to keep out the starving hoardes when Y2K ended civilization. Yeah, I've been around here for a while.

Obama sucks. He's a liar and he hates this country. He's incompetent and whatever competence his musters is spent with evil intent.

But none of that has any relevance whatsoever to your inability to prove your extraordinary theory that a Chinese sub launched a ballistic missle off the coast of California. You have a heavily edited (though they absurdly call it "raw") video that is inconclusive.

You have no radar imagery, no eyewitnesses of a missle launch, or missle crash. You have no missle. You have no hole in the ground. You have no video of it spashing down. No floating debris. You have no motive. You have absolutely no evidence linking your suspect to the crime nobody knows occurred.

You and your like-minded friends have spun this gigantic theory of everything out of a fuzzy video on the internet. Maybe you're right. If you are, I will congratulate you as soon as you prove something. I'll send you a note from my prison, where I'll be serving time for not believing you.

Until that happens, I'll just think you a bit unstable.

How can I be lying, when you haven’t produced a single bit of tangible proof?

One of the sad things about your delusion is that you are so delusional that you can’t see it

I wonder why Obama suddenly endorses the NATO missile defense system?

Why is he instructing the US to develop mobile missile systems that would tie in more easily with Russia’s missile system?

I think Avalon could see it despite the mountains. Here's a Google Earth shot from Avalon looking N/NW:

Avalon"

The same view from the higher altitude of Catalina Airport, below, seems an ideal location - the best possible anyway for this event:

For comparison, S/SW from Rancho Palos Verdes. Good view also:

Any observers or cams there should have gotten a good look.

Attack the messenger. That is all you have left. Now CBS showed the video in a funny way. The horror. Glenn Beck is now a nut after he just spent a week attacking George Soros. You know, the same week that began with a missile launch near Los Angeles. And now World Net Daily which sites sources connected to the US military, is crazy because they bought into the Y2K hype like 40-50 % of the population. Well I did not. Check it out. Only recommended that banks might operate slowly based on my previous experience maintaining bank mainframe computers and related equipment.

Obama sucks. He's a liar and he hates this country. He's incompetent and whatever competence his musters is spent with evil intent.

Wow. We can agree on some things. Excellent.

But none of that has any relevance whatsoever to your inability to prove your extraordinary theory that a Chinese sub launched a ballistic missle off the coast of California.

We are now 100 % certain of missile. 100 % certain of sub launch. Still trying to determine who launched and planned the operation.

You have a heavily edited (though they absurdly call it "raw") video that is inconclusive.

Still does not change the fact that there is a missile launch on the video. You guys are running a carnival side show. Not interested in watching.

You have no radar imagery, no eyewitnesses of a missle launch, or missle crash.

Provide a link to all the non-classified radar displays along the coast for that day at that time. And you still wont have proven we have no radar imagery. We cannot look at classified defense radar displays for this coast. I have worked numerous times in the past around classified data and systems, I know in general what I am allowed to see and not allowed to see.

You have no missle. You have no hole in the ground. You have no video of it spashing down. No floating debris.

It landed in the ocean. We did not have a ship in position to recover debris. It eventually sunk.

You and your like-minded friends have spun this gigantic theory of everything out of a fuzzy video on the internet.

Better then having no video at all.

Until that happens, I'll just think you a bit unstable.

Would recommend you do not spend so much time in the future replying to someone you think is unstable.

Dude, you are a funny guy and your economic doomage posts are very relevant. But you also stated the BP Oil Spill was going to be an ELE. You are human just like all of us. We make mistakes. The last big one I remember making around here was the US Cole bombing. Quickly corrected my mistake though. Just a word of advice, would recommend that you lay off the posts about violence towards the US government, they do have nuclear weapons you know :>

One of the sad things about your delusion is that you are so delusional that you can’t see it.

Claiming video evidence of a missile launch is not evidence of a missile launch, is delusional. Many experts claim the video shows a missile launch. Therefore it is evidence of a missile launch. Now you could claim that you do not agree with their assessment of that evidence. Stating that there is no evidence at all however, is illogical and delusional. Perhaps if you stated it as the following it would not be labeled as a lie, I do not agree with the missile proponents assessment of the video evidence. That would be logical, correct and sane.

Nice shot, but it does not give you the true feel for the actual elevation of the mountain. It is a tall mountain. Have been there in the city and rode around in the golf carts. Did the usual drive by the old Wrigley Home (chewing gum fame I think). Big house in the old image below half way up the southern mountain. They are some tall mountains. The big mountain range is to the right and you can not see it in the image below. Take the Helicopter ride sometime. Awesome landing site. Right on the coast next to almost a vertical mountain wall. Located now near one of those points on the left. Image below is looking almost due south from just north of Avalon Bay. City and big mountain ranges to the right.

The missile also headed on a 60-45 degree vertical northwestward direction right after that coarse correction. Was headed away from the Island very quickly. Image construction by Candor7

Think I also remember watching one of those Heull Howser California Gold specials about how the Dodgers had a training camp on the Island for a few years. Do not remember exactly where that ball park was located though.

Got that baseball tidbit wrong. Was actually the Chicago Cubs that trained on Catalina Island between 1921-1951. Very surprising. Not much of a sport fan myself lately. Wonder where this ball park was located ?

So, dead, you're calling it a "fuzzy" video now? Wow.

And I forget -- how many missile launches have you seen? How much time have you spent in the L.A. area observing both missiles and contrails, with binoculars? Also, I see you didn't answer my questions in post #168 on a different thread, so I'll answer them for you:

Q:Where have you seen public commentary on this particular incident made by L.A. airspace air traffic controllers?
A: Blank ... no answer. Conclusion: air traffic controllers have remained mum, which in my opinion indicates that it was a missile and they are unwilling to lie outright.

Q: How many miles from a commercial or pleasure boat can you see before the curvature of the earth makes something out of view? (in reference to the assumption that oodles of folks on boats should have seen "a missile enter or exit the sea")
A: Seven miles. I.E., you are saying that in all that vast expanse of ocean, which I have personally been on, ON A BOAT, many times -- I grew up in a commercial fishing family -- there should have been a whole lotta vessels within seven miles of wherever, and no one knows where, the thing was launched, and that of that possible handful of possible witnesses, one or more of them would be inclined to post on the internet, call talk shows, or demand a voice on local media.

Q: What do the people of Avalon see when they look west or northwest?
A: Mountains. Tall, overshadowing mountains. From Avalon -- whose population is closer to 3,500 including kids -- the view of the western and north-western horizon is fully blocked. I've been there. Have you?

I don't for an instant think established plane-folks FReepers I've known and whose posts I've enjoyed, if not always agreed with, are idiots, kooks, insane, stupid, or anything else. I have asked and been answered (and NOT answered!) enough to surmise that the majority of them have zero or limited empirical first-hand observational background to draw from with regard to missile launches and contrails in the L.A. area skies. I KNOW these FReepers are not insane; I KNOW they're perfectly sane. I also know that in this particular area, they have little to zero experience to draw from and are simultaneously being targeted by a very sophisticated effort that has been so effective (in part because of the dual-psychology of "confirming" what people [including me!] would like to believe and flattering their own sense of superior intellect) that it has persuaded many of them that clear video footage of a westbound missile -- taken at sunset, for Pete's sake! -- was actually an eastbound UPS flight. Yep. That's no missile -- that's UPS! What's Brown done for you?

Understand the difference between canaries in a coal mine and your enemies. Hint: I'm your FRiend.

But you also stated the BP Oil Spill was going to be an ELE.

No, I stated that the emotional data I was harvesting and interpreting (incorrectly at the time) looked like a ELE. I don't predict anything. I'm not capable. I just sift through mounds of data and try to extract some level of precognitive insight. My algorithms aren't perfect, and the science is not exact. In this instance, it is quite difficult to differentiate between a bunch of people screaming "We're all gonna die!" and a bunch of people screaming before they all die.

You are human just like all of us. We make mistakes.

Oh, no question there. But this isn't some fuzzy new science being pulled from the jaws of goofy theories and my wild-eyed imaginings. This is plain and simple physics.

No missile. (got to post 135)

In that case, why do you think the MSM video of the contrail is legit? Couldn’t that have been entirely faked?

You would think so and I don't see them giving any proof that their picture is real and it said something about piecing it together and it is the pieced together photo that is used in the article.

"Later, he learned that fellow NASA scientist Doug Spangenberg had pieced together a photo of the mystery contrail from space after sifting through weather satellite images."
