New York Times article details Palin's political machine.
Sarah Palin has clarified for the first time in a newly published interview that she is seriously considering a presidential run.
"I am," Palin told New York Times writer Robert Draper when asked if she was weighing a run in 2012. "I'm engaged in the internal deliberations candidly, and having that discussion with my family, because my family is the most important consideration here."
In a personal profile to be published in the upcoming New York Times Magazine, Palin said her decision would involve "evaluating whether she could bring unique qualities to the table," admitting the biggest challenge would be proving her record.

Mitt is a serious contender, but will not win.
Huck is a joke and will not run.
Rick Perry will join the race and have a shot.
Palin will be the one to beat, but I wouldn't be surprised if she joined a Perry ticket (they are friends)
LOL...they better stick to book writing.
The only thing keeping Sarah Palin from being the next President is her deciding not to run.
I think Perry will be the Palin-sanctioned candidate for POTUS.
Just as Palin heavily edits or at times completely writes most of her own speeches and insists on reviewing any statement issued by SarahPAC, ......................................... I guess if she was a real “Genius”, she’d have a speech writer, and, a teleprompter with her at all times.
It’s very difficult for the Ruling Class to continue trying to downplay Sarah Palin’s tremendous competence.
This difficulty will only increase.
Whoa...this article gives me great hope! And man, it sounds like she’s VERY SMART to me. Her instincts are brilliant, and those who underestimate her do so at their peril.
You say she’s “unelectable”?...yeah and you said Bristol couldn’t dance...How’d that work out for ya?
Love this at the end (Sarah is IN CHARGE)
“Palin heavily edits or at times completely writes most of her own speeches and insists on reviewing any statement issued by SarahPAC,”
kingattax, my comments are not directed at you personally...I was speaking generically about the PDS sufferers excuses that Palin is ‘unelectable’ Please don’t take it personally.
i knew you were obviously using a generic “you” and i never take anything personally anyway :)
I’m sure that news sends a tingle up Chris Matthews’ leg .... and shudders up the spines of many others — both Dem and Pubbie.
I take Sarah Palin at her word. She told Bret Baier she will not run if there is another candidate willing to make the sacrifice to uphold true conservative principles and steer clear of the establishment web. She would be that person’s biggest supporter (and that is not just an expression-—her endorsement and efforts would be absolutely vital). If there is no such person seeking the nomination, she will run.
That is not a bad outcome-—we would have a true conservative in the White House and still have Sarah Palin in the media as a very powerful voice.
But if she runs I’ll support her 110%. At this point I see no solidly conservative alternative to Palin except for perhaps Mike Pence, Jim Demint or Paul Ryan, and two of those three have expressed no interest in running. There is Chris Christie, too, but his social conservatism is questionable.
“””evaluating whether she could bring unique qualities to the table,” admitting the biggest challenge would be proving her record.””
hussein didn’t have to prove his record. Heck, he didn’t have a past at all no matter what name he used over the years.
The Establishment is scared shitless of Palin.
Both Left and Right. That’s why I like her. She is also the only person who was willing to take on Obama, even when he had high favorability ratings.
Finally, last but not least, she takes on the media...love that.

Big Deal. Who cares. What I wanna know is, what’s the latest gossip about Bristol and DWTS???
And as usual, Free Republic is the main source of info to catch up on this truly important stuff.
You mean Perry join a Palin ticket, don't you?
There is no reason for Bristol to be in the finals, by the judge's scores, so it is the people calling in and voting en masse that saves her every time.
Go to...a very hot place. you know where it is. You have a rough bark, but you never stand for anything buddy.
Flame away but let’s pray Independent voters feel the same way.
>>>. ...uphold true conservative principles and steer clear of the establishment web. <<<
That’s the qualifying part of that statement right there.
If the supposed candidate doesn’t have those creds... She’s in.
“evaluating whether she could bring unique qualities to the table,”
She will destroy them.
If you think about the whole picture Palin is the only one that would not cowtail to the global agenda.
She will be bashed in the media because of this.
I think her show with Greta on drilling in Alaska makes Palin brilliant in exposing the “protect wildlife” bogus liberal story and vital to our economy.
I hope she runs and I pray she can win. She needs to do something to appeal to the independent voter that even the media can’t spin.
If I had to choose between Hillary and Obama, I’d choose Hillary. Obama’s a true believer in communism and totalitarianism. Hillary’s a true believer in... herself.
Of course, I’d take Sarah over either of them in half a heartbeat.
Here's some cheese to have with your whine.
Hillary and Obama share the same exact policies don’t be fooled.
The Clintoon’s just fake moderacy Obama won’t.
Yeah, but can she win? I agree with Palin almost right down the line on every issue. But I want to WIN in 2012. The last poll I saw showed her last among Pubs running against Obozo.
I like Pence and Ryan. But ideal would be
Palin’s endorsement of a candidate early in the GOP primary would prevent the “conservative split” that resulted in McCain getting the nomination last time. A primary field that features 2-3 decent conservatives and 1 RINO always results in the RINO winning the nomination.
It is important that we (as conservatives) rally behind a single candidate to prevent this, and I think Palin is the key to this happening. If she gets behind someone early, that should be who we rally behind. If she decides nobody running is worth supporting and runs herself, well ditto.
It will be less controversial if Palin endorses someone than runs. Whichever way it goes though, the GOP nomination this time runs through Palin.
What do you mean you’re not sure she can govern? Have a look at this and don’t tell me she can’t govern:
Governor Sarah Palins Accomplishments that garnished her a whopping 92% approval rating:
Energy Independence, Development, and Environmental Stewardship
*Governor Palins cornerstone accomplishment is AGIA (Alaska Gasline Inducement Act). During the Palin administration, TransCanada and Exxon formed an alliance to build a natural gas pipeline from Alaska to the Lower 48. Under Governor Palins governance, the project was expanded and revised from what previous governors had proposed with an open policy process for the Alaskan people. More progress was made on this effort than in the previous 30 years. This is the largest private sector infrastructure project in North American history and helps put us on the path to energy independence.
*Governor Palins administration opened up drilling for oil and natural gas at Pt. Thompson for the first time in decades.
*Governor Palin created the Alaskas Petroleum Integrity Office to oversee all aspects of energy development and to make sure oilfield equipment was safe to operate and a Climate Change Subcabinet to comprehensively and honestly evaluate climate change.
*Governor Palin reduced earmark requests for the state of Alaska by 80% during her administration, requesting only earmarks that would benefit the country as a whole.
* Governor Palin reduced spending in her budget for Fiscal Year 2010 by more than one billion dollars from the previous governors Fiscal Year 2007 budget, a 9.5% real reduction in spending. Her FY2010 budget was $10.57 billion compared to Governor Murkowskis FY2007 budget of nearly $11.7 billion. At the same time, she fulfilled her campaign promise to forward fund education, allowing districts greater flexibility and predictability in their planning.
*Governor Palin opposed much of the “stimulus”, wanting only to accept 55% of the money allocated to Alaska, specifically only dollars dedicated to infrastructure [projects. Although the Alaskan legislature ultimately overturned her veto, she stood firm on her commitment to help Alaska to become more self-sufficient while not adding to not add to the skyrocketing national debt.
* Governor Palin invested $5 billion in state savings.
Walking the Walk on Fiscal Responsibility
*Governor Palin sold the private jet purchased by the previous governor. She state it was an unnecessary financial burden on the state and was unable to land on many of the states landing strips.
* To cut costs that would be incurred by continuing to use a personal driver like previous governors, the governor drove herself from Wasilla to her office in Anchorage. She also dismissed the governors personal chef stationed in Juneau, Alaskas capital.
* Governor Palin accepted less state per diem for herself and her family than her predecessors even though she had a larger family.
10th Amendment Advocacy/Promotion of State Constitution
*Showing that she is a strong supporter of the 10th amendment, Governor Palin advocated for the sovereignty of the state of Alaska.
*Governor Palins administration sued the federal government for placing the polar bear on the endangered species list, as this restriction affected energy development which would increase energy costs.
*A Constitutionalist, Governor Palin signed Alaskas Clear and Equitable Share (ACES) bill into law. The Alaska constitution states that the Alaskan people own the oil and other resources. This law ensures that the “owners”, the people of Alaska, receive a clear and equitable share of oil profits.
*Governor Palin supported ground-based missile defense Ft Greely and other Alaskan Bases around to protect America from Americas enemies. She criticized the Obama administration for cuts that they made to this national defense system.
*Governor Palin, with Senators Murkowski and Begich, fought for retirement benefits from the federal government that were due to the Alaska Territorial Guard members who fought during World War II. These benefits were eventually rewarded to these veterans by the federal government.

*Governor Palin put the state checkbook online, allowing all constituents to see how state money was being spent.

Sanctity and Dignity of All Life
* Governor Palin strongly supported both parental consent and parental notification legislation.
*Governor Palin increased educational funding for special needs children.
*Governor Palin implemented the Senior Benefits Program to support low income seniors.
Positions Held while Governor
* Chairman of the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission.
*Vice Chair of the National Governors Association Natural Resource Committee.
* She served as chair of the Alaska Conservation Commission, which regulates Alaskas most valuable non-renewable resources: oil and gas. She was elected by her peers to serve as president of the Alaska Conference of Mayors. In this role, she worked with local, state and federal officials to promote solutions to the needs of Alaskas communities.
She exposed legal violations and conflicts of interest of Alaska Republican leaders, including the former state Attorney General and the State GOP Chairman (who was also an Oil & Gas Commissioner), who was doing work for the party on public time and supplying a lobbyist with a sensitive e-mail. Several went to jail.

Sarah Palin was Commander of the Alaska National Guard. Alaska is the first line of defense in our missile interceptor defense system. The 49th Missile Defense Battalion of the Alaska National Guard is the first line of defense unit that protects the entire nation from ballistic missile attacks. Its on permanent active duty, unlike other Guard units in the United States. As governor of Alaska, Palin was briefed on highly classified military issues, homeland security, and counterterrorism daily.
Governor Palin was the commander in chief of the Alaska State Defense Force (ASDF), a federally recognized militia incorporated into Homeland Security’s counterterrorism plans.
Only if you're a faux conservative and enjoy seeing two faced scumbags run around pushing an agenda of political expediency.
I will vote for her over Romney, Gingrich, Huckabee, or Pawlenty. If she picks any of those as a running mate, she will have already lost.
I think this man is qualified to be POTUS or VEEP
The Denali pipeline bill that Palin signed will cost the Alaska tax payers $150 million and there is no guarantee that the consortium she backed will win the bid. And, nothing has happened yet in terms of construction.
The governor of Alaska is not CIC of those NG units that are on active duty...you know that.
I hear that there are other web sites on the internet, you don't have to be here if you don't like it, it isn't mandatory.
The MSM will do everything they can to stop her, and they have a disturbing amount of power. After all, they conned stupid Americans into banding together to elect Obama.
We just need to remember that the best candidates will always be attacked the hardest. Right now, Sarah is being attacked harder than anyone else, and this has gone on for more than two years.
