“Mr. President, after the recent travesty in federal court, how can you possibly maintain that trying terrorism cases in civilian courtrooms is a good idea?”

I’ll take “Questions you’ll never hear at an Obama press conference” for $200, Alex.

The holdout was a she, and just to show the intellectual caliber of this individual, here's a portion of the note she sent to the judge:

“The juror who sent the note, which was somewhat ungrammatical, said she felt “secure and I have come to my conclusion but it doesn’t agreed with the rest of the juror.”

“My conclusion, it not going to change,” the juror wrote.”

So, it looks like the defense was able to stack the jury with ignorant semi-literates. And these are the people expected to weigh the evidence, and they can't even manage to construct a sentence in the English language.

He was convicted in a civilian court, so the regular federal criminal code applies to him, not the Code of Military Justice. There is no parole under the federal criminal code.

In a civilian court all it takes is one far-left judge, or an Obama groupie judge or a hate-America judge to swing the balance in favor of these terrorists.

All it takes is one anti-social juror with a bug up his rear, or one aging hippie or one little old lady who'd like to teach the world to sing to hold out for "not guilty".

FIRE ERIC HOLDER! IMPEACH OBAMA!.....before they murder our country!

Only one thing comes to mind on this issue.

When the political winds shift in an ugly direction, I will stand Muslim-Barack Hussein Obama

I’m surprised he was even found guilty of conspiracy.

Every last one of these sons of camels should’ve been squeezed dry for info, tried in military court, hanged, and buried in pig carcasses within a year after capture.

"Our soldiers convicted of “war crimes” are eligible for parole."

Fair questions. Federal parole ended in the mid 1980s (1984, I think). After that, sentencing guidelines were imposed. Some of these guidelines have been recently ammended, but as a practical matter, there continues to be no parole. However, there are days that can be shaved each year for "good behavior".

Your questions about "enemy combatants" and "war crimes" are complicated ones. Convictions under the UCMJ are eligible for clemency and parole. The process is too detailed to go into here, but suffice to say, it's complicated and is used (in most cases) extraordinarily judiciously.

Enemy combatants - as I understand how they exist currently - use a similar system of parole found in the UCMJ.

This particular POS, because he was convicted in federal civilian court, is NOT eligible for parole. Hope that helps.

Incorrect. Obama (and his handlers) are getting exactly what they wanted.

That doesn’t mean Obama and his buddies won’t try to push a Bill through reinstating Federal Parole.

They’ll find him an out. IMO.

I’m not thinking totally rationally because I can’t get the images of responders takin the broken bodies out of the collapsed building next to the embassy in Kenya. Americans and bystanders can be killed with impunity.

This always amazes me, the jury believed he was in on a conspiracy to destroy federal buildings BUT is, somehow, not guilty of murder!??????????????

How do they ever slice the baloney that thin?

Well, congrats to the justice department they REALLY screwed the pooch on this one.

Incorrect. Obama (and his handlers) are getting exactly what they wanted.

They are insane ideologues who were too stupid to understand that this outcome was assured. But someone will have to pay a price for this insanity. IOW's there's a bus with Eric Holders name on it roaring down the highway.
