JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) -- Alaska's Republican party is asking nominee Joe Miller to concede the U.S. Senate race to incumbent Lisa Murkowski.

State GOP chair Randy Ruedrich says the party "stands ready to embrace" Murkowski as "Alaska's only Republican U.S. senator." He called on Miller to respect the will of the voters and to "end his campaign in a dignified manner."

Miller: Integrity of the Vote is Vital

Anchorage, Alaska. November 17, 2010 — Joe Miller, U.S. Senate candidate, anticipates the end of the vote counting in Alaska today with the tallying of the overseas ballots. With over 255,000 votes cast, less than one percent of the vote total now separates Miller and Murkowski.

In order to ensure the integrity of the election results, the Miller campaign has requested, and the Division of Elections has now granted, the opportunity to review some precinct logs from throughout the state. Miller campaign spokesman Randy DeSoto said, “Our campaign has sworn affidavits identifying unsecured ballot boxes, other precincts where numerous ballots appear to be in the same handwriting, others where there is 100% voter turnout and still other precincts where the ballots were sent to the Division of Elections presorted by U.S. Senate candidate. These and other irregularities give our campaign pause. Alaskans must be able to trust the results of its elections.”

One important step in reviewing the results of the election is ensuring that the number of voters signed in the precinct logs on Election Day matches the number of votes being recorded from that precinct and that there is no evidence of voter fraud. Further verification of these totals will have to come from the tapes that the voting machines produce with a tally of the number of voters and the break down between candidates. So far the Division of Elections has failed to respond to the Miller request for these tapes.

The Miller campaign will be conducting its review of selected precinct logs tomorrow and possibly Saturday, and will want the voting machine tapes as part of its review. The Division of Elections has also begun its required audit of random precincts from all 40 districts throughout the state.

Additionally, the Murkowski write-in ballots have undergone a hand count review where spoiled ballots are being counted for her, whereas the Miller ballots have all been counted by machine with many valid ballots not being included.

Joe Miller said, “After all the absentee ballots are in and we’ve further reviewed the procedures and the results, we may ask for a recount. Less than 1% of the vote now separates my and Lisa Murkowski’s total. If there is a recount and a consistent standard is applied to all the ballots, who knows what the difference would be. We need to uphold the integrity of the vote and we need a consistent standard.”

So much B/S! Did Murkowski not sign a statement she would back the nominee in the Primary. This is exactly what is wrong with the two party system. If we do not get a third party I suppose I will have to quit voting. Lets start a recall.

Miller should respond to the piggies in the GOP establishment that they should at least have the damn courtesy to wait until the military ballots are counted. Not that it will change anything, just to let the military know that their votes DO STILL COUNT in this banana republic.

Same will of the people that voted for Miller in the primaries beating MurCOWski?

The same GOP protecting the establishment instead of backing the TEA party GOP candidates fully?

Stick it GOP, wait till ALL the votes are counted.

The mainline Republicans have relveaed their dedication to business-as-usual inside the Beltway with this one.

The crooks in the Alaskan Republican Party are so scared of the TEA Party that they are trying to pressure Miller to give up before a full and honest count of the votes.

The military vote, if honestly counted, and an honest examination of the cheating on the Indian votes, will likely prove Miller to be the honestly elected Senator from Alaska.

NO MORE SENATOR FRANKENSTEINS ! ! ! !

Why??

I could understand if this were a Primary - 'Party Unity' and all that rot... Get behind the Primary victor to win the General Election... Yeah, kind of like what Murkowski did... Oh that's right - she fought 'Party Unity' tooth and nail.

Its an uphill battle, but I hope Mr. Miller fights this one to the last bullet.
And to the Alaskan GOP Party: Where were you when it was proper to ask Murkowski to drop out of the race? When she had lost the GOP Primary?

For Joe Miller, stress, lies and politics tainted his borough job, records show

"...Miller has long been a political crony of former Gov. Sarah Palin, and in March 2008 was assisting in her effort to get Randy Ruedrich booted as the Alaska Republican Party's chairman -- a political takeover that ultimately failed.

Palin and Ruedrich had been at odds before, famously in 2003 when Palin, then an Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission commissioner, discovered that Ruedrich, also a commission member while state GOP chair, was conducting Republican business out of his state office. She exposed Ruedrich's ethical lapses -- forcing him to resign and resulting in a $12,000 state ethics fine -- and then used her reputation as a corruption fighter to bootstrap her way into the governor's office..."

Ruedrich is dirty and a long time enemy of Palin and Miller. His call for concession is BS.

I think I remember seeing this guy’s name in “Going Rogue,” but unfortunately the book doesn’t have an index, so I can’t immediately check it.

I gather, however, that he is a part of the Dirty Bastards Club, and is an enemy of Palin and Miller.

Here’s an informative article suggesting that, which I found by searching for his name, from back in 2008:

http://www.juneauempire.com/stories/030908/sta_255333530.shtml

Pretty clear that this guy is part of the problem.

By the way. Read that whole article. It quotes Palin as laughing because Ruedrich neglected to list her name on the Republican Party website after she became Governor.

Ruedrich said he “forgot.” But he didn’t forget to list Frank Murkowski earlier.

The RNC should do what ever they can to punish Murkowski and the AK GOP.

At thevery least, eat the seat, strip her of her tenure and committees, and throw her out of the party.
Then end all national funding of AK GOP candidates until the AK GOP toes the line.

"Only Republican US Senator"?
I thought she ran as an Independent.
AK GOP, Murkowski, you are scum.
