President Obama to award George H. W. Bush the Presidential Medal of Freedom
The New York Daily News ^ | November 17th 2010 | Kenneth R. Bazinet, White House Correspondent

President Obama dropped a bipartisan bombshell today, announcing he will award the Presidential Medal of Freedom next year to ex-President George H.W. Bush.

The magnanimous gesture of bestowing the nation’s highest civilian honor to the 41st U.S. President came a day after ex-President George W. Bush gave a respectful nod to Obama at the groundbreaking of his library in Dallas.

“The decisions of governing are on another President’s desk, and he deserves to make them without criticism from me,” Bush said at the site of his future library at Southern Methodist University.

NBA Hall of Famer Bill Russell, St. Louis (baseball) Hall of Famer Stan Musial, cellist Yo-Yo Ma, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Wall Street wizard Warren Buffett top the list of scholars, athletes, artists, achievers and do-gooders who will be presented the award at a White House ceremony early next year.

“These outstanding honorees come from a broad range of backgrounds and they’ve excelled in a broad range of fields, but all of them have lived extraordinary lives that have inspired us, enriched our culture, and made our country and our world a better place. I look forward to awarding them this honor,” Obama said.

The rest of the list includes civil rights activist Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.), environmentalist John H. Adams, poet Maya Angelou, Holocaust survivor Gerda Weissmann Klein, optometrist murdered by the Taliban Dr. Tom Little, civil rights activist Sylvia Mendez, disabled rights advocate Ambassador Jean Kennedy Smith and former AFL-CIO President John J. Sweeney.

If I were Bush I’d keep this little obamino jester on the backburner and string him along until the perfect time to accept on my terms..when, where, and certainly at the hour of my choosing where it would damage Obamino the worst.

FWIW, I heard 41 speak about the New World Order. He said that he was speaking of the fall of the Berlin wall, and the subsequent loss of the Soviet Union with it’s satellite countries becoming independent countries. Now, THAT was hope and change! lol

However, he could have been walking back his New World Order statement...

Ever see any of the old movies with the dictor always in a uniform covered with medals. These statists love them and I’m not saying it to demean - it just puzzles me.

WHAT A FAKE GESTURE OF BIPARTISANSHIP!

Does Obama really think that commending Bush will resolve the economic and security issues of the country?

And the rationale for giving such a medal IS ENTIRE LAME AND SELF-SERVING!

OBAMA, THE WORST DECISION MAKER EVER!

IN THE END, IT’S ALL POLITICAL POSTURING!

Bush should demand that the TSA goons radiate Prez OThuggo just in advance of this event, to detect the presence of any shivs, knives, guns, misc other weapons hidden on the body of the Thug-in-Chief.

Oh he’s reaching out...

What a despicable pig. Next he’ll be urging the Catholic church to make Mother Teresa a Saint.

Bush should tell him to shove that Presidential Medal of Freedom award. We have got to quit playing footsie with this guy. It’s time to make it very clear what a destroyer this man is.

Yeah, George, I've been meaning to talk to you about that term "President" you use so loosely. :>)
