Pulitzer-winning commentator Charles Krauthammer, now a Fox News analyst, says he started out as a Democrat, but then realized the "Great Society" actually hurt the nation.
Now his most admired president is Ronald Reagan and he calls himself a psychiatrist in remission.
The comments come in Krauthammer's interview with author Burt Prelutsky for Prelutsky's new book, "Portraits of Success: Candid Conversations with 60 Over-Achievers."

Krauthammer might know how to parrot conservative ideas.
However, this knowledge doesn’t eliminate the fact that he also knows how to take subtle but damaging potshots at the advancing edge of conservatism, while he hides behind enemy lines.
Krauthammer’s strategy is to voice his support for conservative ideas or personalities when support for them is already saturated and there’s no risk that he might actually help conservatism. And then he immediately shoots down novel ideas or new candidates when they threaten to advance conservatism against the ruling class.
Krauthammer is so ruling class it’s not even funny. I will never take him seriously.
Krauthammer came out against Palin early on.
Undoubtedly, he will be used by the ruling class as a secret weapon (along with Karl Rove) to try to stop the Palin presidency.
