TSA airport screeners gone wild in San Diego- again

Wolanyk said he knew what was coming and took off his pants and shirt, leaving him in Calvin Klein bike undergarments.

“It was obvious that my underwear left nothing to the imagination,” he explained. “But that wasn’t enough for the TSA supervisor who was called to the scene and asked me to put my clothes on so I could be properly patted down.”

...

The incident was confirmed by Harbor Police Sergeant Rakos who said Wolanyk was arrested on two misdemeanors, “failing to complete the security process; violation code 7.01 and illegally recording the San Diego Airport Authority (they confiscated his iPhone); violation number 714 (2).”

Indeed he did. Fact is that the TSA has stepped completely over the line, the reductio ad adsurdum of a policy that away from profiling because it is politically incorrect.

I'm not going to defend the TSA or the San Diego Police. But I think we should choose our "martyrs" carefully. Just as I am distrustful of lefties who put themselves into confrontation with authority, I am similarly distrustful of people who would appear to be on my side who provoke. These are people who would get a hard time from Israeli type security also. Their stories are probably not exactly as depicted.

If our constitutional rights are not defended, we lose them. This man chose to stand up for his. I like his chances. He formerly sued San Diego for open carry false arrest and won. He was not provoking "the system" at that time, he was standing up for his constitutional rights; it was a police officer(s) who tried to deny him his.

Here's his story about the previous arrest. Open Carry false arrest costs San Diego $35,000 - Part 1 He's using the same lawyer. Should be interesting.

as profits dry up for the Airlines, they will demand and force a correction to this insanity

The airlines can't do anything about this.
It's a federal law - the only ones who can put a stop to it are Congress.
They had their chance last week and listened to the weasle TSA king and did nothing.

Basically, we're screwed. No commercial flying.

I flew to San Diego last spring and remember thinking there sure wwere a lot of TSA agents and they were not particularly friendly looking....there were number of them at the arrival gate?!?!

—I remember wondering if they were looking for someone...now I am wondering if they are told to look menacing and make the passengers uncomfortable....Anyone else notice this about San Diego?

I have been musing what if a person had one of these ‘fart’ blowers concealed in the crotch or buttocks area and when the TSA person got close for looking for it the blower could could be activated, add a little H2S for kicks.

I was recently thinking that, what if some passengers just said “Screw it!” and put all their clothes (down to their underwear) in the bins and walked through the metal detectors... STILL not good enough??

Not at all good enough for the TSA. See, when people strip down first, the passenger to some degree has taken matters into his own hands (no pun intended). This is all about control...the TSA wants to TELL you what to do and when to do it. Independence is outlawed.

Good idea.

Let’s also start profiling presidential candidates.

We can look for those with birth certificates and let them run for the nomination and and eliminate those who don’t meet constitutional qualifications to serve.

Doesn’t matter if it was planned anyway, the other side does this stuff all the time (Reichstag fire?). Any possible thing we can do to roll back Communism, including using their playbook, could turn out well for the country.

Like I said, it calls into question the state of mind of the TSA employees. You obviously can’t hide anything when you’re standing there in underwear. Then they have the gall to tell the guy to put his clothes back on so they could touch every square inch of his body? It goes far beyond just being wrong.

I see they have now made it illegal to record the search as well so you cannot prove what they did to you or your kids. Maryland tried this with general police stops and recently lost in court. I would hope this will be rulled an illegal abridgment, but I can already hear the security argument that they cannot allow anyone to record their process.

TSA wanted him to put his clothes back on to do the pat down.

I know, how stupid is that???!!! "We can't pat you down, unless you have clothes on." lol

They also escorted/paraded him through two airport terminals in his undies, after arresting him, and he was still not "officially" screened! oh-la-la....these TSA agents and the local deputies involved are complete imbeciles!

By doing that, they've admitted he's no security risk; this is punishment for not following "orders".

The Airlines CAN do something about this. They can pressure the individual airports to opt-out of TSA coverage, and have the airports hire contractors just like before the tsa existed.

This way they can have some say in who is working there and how customers are “handled”.

Airports don’t want to work with the airlines?, not a problem, move their operations to more customer friendly airports.

San Francisco and San Diego are actually two different cities. One in Southern California and the other in the Northern part of California.

Powell also stated that there was another arrest of a woman who was allegedly illegally filming the x-ray, and TSA screening process with a video camera. The young woman’s camera was confiscated and she was given a citation and released from Harbor Police custody.

Now it's "illegal" to film the public abuse of American citizens? One has to wonder what will be the next level in this escalation of intimidation.

As long as we protest they will continue to up the ante. We can bet the house on that.

Indeed it does, for the most part.

Where do the LEO members of Oath Keepers come down on this? and, since they’re allowing themselves to be used against the US people now, where do the Active Duty Military Oath Keepers stand?

My sister suggested that we all prepare for air travel by not showering, not using deodorant and not changing our underwear for a week before we travel.

I live in SD County and fly out of Lindbergh Field frequently. I’ve never felt uncomfortable, but I will say that the TSA agents here are neither friendly nor personable.
