St. Louis tops list of most dangerous US cities

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — St. Louis overtook Camden, N.J., as the nation's most dangerous city in 2009, according to a national study released Sunday.

The study by CQ Press found St. Louis had 2,070.1 violent crimes per 100,000 residents, compared with a national average of 429.4. That helped St. Louis beat out Camden, which topped last year's list and was the most dangerous city for 2003 and 2004.

Detroit, Flint, Mich., and Oakland, Calif., rounded out the top five. For the second straight year, the safest city with more than 75,000 residents was Colonie, N.Y.

The annual rankings are based on population figures and crime data compiled by the FBI. Some criminologists question the findings, saying the methodology is unfair.

Greg Scarbro, unit chief of the FBI's Uniform Crime Reporting Program, said the FBI also discourages using the data for these types of rankings.

"Crime is based on a variety of factors. It's based on geography, it's based on poverty, it's based on the economy..."

B.S. It's based on the percentage and absolute numbers of Negro and Latin males aged 14-45 behaving as unconscionable animals and roaming urban areas in packs to rape, rob, murder, and commit other assorted acts of mayhem.

Indeed it is.

Wherever they go, misery follows.

Might not be popular to say, but it is true.

It's people who have been raised on my money and not required to do any work or accept any responsibility their entire lives.

Mostly feral Black males.

I don't know which group will destroy this country first, Muzlims or Black males?

I drove across country with a friend about ten years ago. We stopped, had lunch, visited the Arch and continued our journey. That's been my only time in the city.

I worked for a corp. that was based in St. Louis. From the top down management wise with maybe one exception out of the dozen or so I had to deal with, all crooked as they come. There are a lot of other choice descriptions but I don’t want to get kicked off of here.

Do a “Wykipedia” on the cities listed above and look at the demographics. Then, look up the safest cities using the same data base and look at the demographics. You cannot argue with the facts. Check it out!!

Most large urban areas are dangerous if you are a goof and wander around where you shouldn't. In a crappy neighborhood the people living their will if they are wise have bars on the windows and a shotgun. I don't think anybody despises lazy thieving scumbags more then those who have to live with them.

Correction on Senators; Clifford Case (R) was the US Senator from NJ between 1955-1979.

Appropriately enough, the mayor of St. Louis is Mayor SLAY. (A Democrat, btw, but you already knew that.)
