Leaked memo shows union plan to hijack elections
The examiner ^ | 11/21/10 | Anthony G. Martin

A memo leaded to the media from AFL-CIO shows the union plan to attempt to hijack the upcoming November elections. The National Right to Work Committee seized the news of the memo in order to alert voters of the campaign to stop union thuggery during elections. According to the internal memo, the big labor unions plan to suspend normal operations in order to undertake a massive national blitz in the run-up to November 2.

All normal union operations will be brought to a halt. 2000 national union staff and 3000 local union personnel will be deployed around the country to work full-time on Leftwing campaigns until the election. Tens of millions of phone calls will be made in order to attack right-to-work candidates. At least 4 million pieces of mail PER WEEK will be sent to voters. These mailouts are designed to smear and malign candidates who oppose the ominous 'card check' plan and other underhanded union power-grabs.

I'm a teamster and there was no talk of this, nor did anyone come up missing from work ... SW Pa. area.

Just sayin'

When I was an AFL-CIO member some 15 years ago, we just didn’t do politics in my shop.

This needs to be a bulleted point on the character checklist when we start sifting through potential 2012 presidential candidates: someone who will crack union balls by every means at their executive disposal.

"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away, for his name is Obama."

Worked in Nevada.

...and California.

The union 'thugs' in California are made up of teachers, school administrators, state workers, and, oh, ...illegal aliens.

Thanks for that, it's reassuring.

The Teamsters backed Ronnie in 1980, IIRC.

Not really, I never liked working in the union but had no choice and made it known loud and clear. My co-workers tried to elect me shop steward as a result but I didn’t want the job. I took the safety steward position instead because I could do the most good in that position.

In spite of this story being old...

In the DemocratUnderground thread, I remarked that "...a large measure of what's going so wrong in California can be attributed to unionism which births such horrors as the ultra-corrupt SEIU." And Jim Robinson responded with this great line:

Unionists be damned!! Unite against the damned unionists!!

I think that's a rallying cry we can all get behind! I'm proud to have busted a union when I lived in the People's Republic of Pennsylvania decades ago. We Conservatives can and must unite against the thugocracy of unions. SEIU, UAW, UMWA, Teamsters, USW, SAG, IBEW...whatever the name or abbreviation:

RIGHT TO WORK SHOULD BE THE LAW IN EVERY STATE.

I’m sorry but I’ve taken the position that when I need work done (whether skilled trades or non-skilled), I won’t contract to Union-labor, nor illegal aliens. There’s plenty of folks who are quality workers who are Independent of Union thuggery, and work hard.

If you personally busted a union in PA, then you just passed the first round of vetting. LOL

I suspect that many union members are like you. But the leadership is another story.
