"I may be behind the times, but I thought when an xray is taken of a person, they should be covered with a lead covering for protection."{The person getting it doesn't. It would defeat the purpose. The person giving the xray does. Much more exposure on the part of the person doing the xray than the person getting it. But this is not the issue when you think about it.

This information should be sent to Drudge, Levin, Malkin, Rush, Hannity, et al. so the American people are informed.

... X-ray backscatter machines will, if widely deployed, almost certainly kill far more people than the terrorists they are supposed to protect us from.I suppose you could say that about almost anything ... Coke ... Peanut Butter ... who knows. Not that I approve of the damn things! It's just wrong, one way or another.

So....this is basically killing off the TSA agents and their bosses, too?
Just a question.

The only people effected are the people being xrayed.
The TSA agents and their bosses are reading the xrays...not taking them.
Think about having xrays taken at the dental office. When they xray, the techs leave the room.

Yes, they leave the ROOM....but these agents...they’re standing out in the open all day by the machines.
Don’t the techs at the offices stand behind something, too, to protect them? (it’s really late here, so forgive me if, as usual.....I’m missing something. Ha!)

Supposedly, the techs reading the xrays are in a “remote” locale...whatever that means. Supposedly, they are far enough away so that they don’t know who is being xrayed...supposedly.

You’re bound and determined to make me scour these threads to find pics, aren’t you? You’re making a good case for your side, versus my over-tired side.
And here I thought I was on to something...to scare the heck out of the tsa dudes

Interesting observation .. yes they should be wearing a film badge. My sister had to wear one when she worked in labs. Next step in this soap opera is thousands of TSA agents suing the government for their inadvertent exposure to continuous x-rays.

LOL!
No need to try and scare the TSA dudes, especially those who are doing nothing but their jobs, and following orders.
You really need to get a hate on for those who are making the rules. There lies the problem...and it’s not what many think it to be.

BTW, ask yourself why they didn’t go public with this program before it was introduced...

All I mean is to plant the seed of doubt/fear into their minds. And you BET I’m more upset with the higher-ups for doing this.
so there. Grammie has spoken. :)

Xrays are no the types of things to treat trivially.
They also diffract off metallic surfaces. If the TSA agents are challenged to allow the innocent to pass without any of their sensors detecting something metallic, just imagine how many uncontrolled emissions will occur hourly in that vicinity.
IMHO, it would be more intelligent to chop up pieces of Chernobyl, place a piece in each airport in the shape of the black rock at Mecca, and have each Muslim approaching the terminal to rub the magic rock.
