The first family should publicly submit to the new scanning device and "enhanced" pat-downs before requiring Americans to do the same, suggested rumored Republican presidential hopeful and ex-Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee while blasting President Obama this morning over controversial new airline security measures.(snip) "'If it's OK for your wife, your daughters, and your mother-in-law, then maybe the rest of us won't feel so bad when our wives, our daughters and our mothers are being put through this humiliating and degrading, totally unconstitutional, intrusion of their privacy.'"

The humiliation of the new scanners isn’t an unfortunate requirement for meeting the goal of security. The humiliation of the paeons who can’t afford to fly private aircraft is the goal.

Behind the scenes of this news media circus there are two forces at play. There is TSA management which is quietly trying to get airports to privatize their security, making management’s job immensely easier. Several large defense contractors including Raytheon and Lockheed have cornered the private screener market. On the other side is the AFLCIO who wants to unionize all the airports. The workers are the hockey puck in this game. No one with any sense takes the news media at face value, especially when stories are calculated to evoke anger and mob mentality.

Supposing Generalisimo Blue Lips took

go through the motions and the TSA would

and even the scanner would likely not actually
scan them.

Now now-

Don't get all excited and scare the people with your crazy ideas of any health risks from X-Rays. The government has promised that these “low dose” machines (certified by the experts with titles) are safe and we can trust the government after all. This technology is by far not as dangerous as say, side stream smoke to your health or the the threat posed by an incandescent light bulb to our national security.

Worry about the real health threats out there to you..... you know, like if those fries at the airport were fried in organic oils before you walk through a machine that cooks your nuts a bit. No worries.... X Rays are perfectly safe for sperm, eggs, developing babies...... there is no association between radiation and cancer, no cumulative effect and we all now that radiation is one of those things that is perfectly safe as long as you don't cross a magic threshold. As long as we don't shoot too many holes through your body it's perfectly fine!

Hey..... realize, your privacy is important to us. It became the lynch-pin argument in R vs. W after all! But are screeners looking at millions of peoples private parts over the next few years, or be forced/subjected to be fondled really invasive? Come on man. Since when are roaming vehicles x-raying the neighborhood an invasion of your privacy?

I haven’t been on the board a whole lot in the past few weeks. Is it just me or are we hearing a LOT more of Huckabee?

I have his five minute “Reports” on my local AM talker and the radio goes Off when he comes On.

Guy still gives me the creeps.

I think this is a marvelous idea. I don’t trust the Huckster any farther than I can throw him. I wonder what the catch is.
