Analysis: Attack is North Korean Bid for Attention (WTH?)
Yahoo News ^ | 11/23/2010 | Yahoo News

A frustrated North Korea is lashing out again, this time with a deadly volley of artillery aimed at reminding rival South Korea — and the world — that it will not be ignored.

The barrage of shots fired Tuesday at a South Korean island lying within sight of its shores did not come out of nowhere. For weeks, North Korea has been angling for credit for reaching out to the U.S. and South Korea, and has warned that the cool response would come at a cost.

The destruction that set homes ablaze, sent civilians fleeing for underground shelters and killed two South Korean marines may have been more than Pyongyang bargained for in its game of chicken with the South.

But it gets attention, which is what Pyongyang wants as it seeks to restart negotiations to barter its nuclear program for much-needed aid.

It can be hard to remember in bustling, cosmopolitan Seoul that the Korean peninsula remains in a state of war.

Who are the dumbasses that write this BS? It’s absolutely incredible how much leeway the Democrat Socialists give the North Koreans.

Reading and taking serious new reports/editorials authored by cool aid drinkers can be harmful to your mental health!

Where is the EPA when you really need them? LOL

There was a segment on Norwegian (far left) news last night, with some drone from NUPI explaining that NK wished to draw America’s attention so as to step in and “protect” them from the south. He also very strongly implied that NK was the attacked party in the Korean war, and that NK’s role was “alleged”. The general advice was more “confidence-building” to allay NK fear and distrust.

By attention they really mean money. N.K is acting belligerent and attacking so the west, out of fear, will pay them to stop. I say quit selling them food and starve them into submission.

We should make N.K. a proving ground for testing weapons, drop a few hundred bunker busters on it to evaluate if they work right.

Evil rulers still walk the earth.

I am afraid that they always will, just like roaches and flies.

Hey Kim, everybody sees through your game. This is a thumb-fingered attempt to dupe your own people into supporting your corrupt regime.

Things are so bad in your country, Kim - let's face it - who would even want to invade and conquer North Korea? There's no threat, so you must create one to justify the misery and horror that life in NK has become.

Its so obvious what is going on.

Do you think KJI intends to be the one world dictator Obama does not bow down to and shake down for cash and concessions and a world apology?

Please. I bet our aircraft carrier is carrying sacks of cash, gold, food, weapons, etc for them.

Unfortunately, that would result in the near total destruction of Seoul. Just about the only arrow in our quiver that would allow an attack on the North that would spare Seoul is a massive nuclear attack on North Korean artillery batteries massed nearby. I doubt we are prepared to do that and Kim Jong-il is banking on our reluctance.
