I’ve got an uneasy feeling that Danegeld isn’t going to work this time.

Tell me again why this isn't just a plain ole' act of war that should be responded to appropriately?

Of course, silly me thought getting a destroyer sunk by a sub would've counted too, but I guess my simple mind just doesn't fully comprehend the nuances of WeltPolitik.

I’m surprised the death toll wasn’t higher.

Looks like indiscriminate shelling.

A preview of what Greater Seoul would be in for x100 if the baloon goes up.

Some was indisciminate, but notice the picture of the impact next to the artillery piece?

Strong message.

They have the "meat" targeted, too, and, they can hit it...

But, be thankful for President Obama - he'll take care of it...

...you know...

...with his "strongly worded letter" response-du-juor...

Sigh.

I weep for this once proud country, emasculated by that "resident" in the White House...

Yes, they specifically targeted the self-propelled artillery unit. It is just that their guns are not as accurate as latest models on our side.

I heard on the news this morning that they have now found at least two civilians who were killed in this shelling.

That brings the death toll to four, as two ROK Marines were reported killed yesterday.

Obama reminds of me the hapless Hans Blix in ‘Team America World Police’. ‘If you don’t stop with your provocative acts Kim Il JUng, we will write you and angry letter expressing just how angry we are’. After that comment, Kim has ol Hans move over a little bit and a trap door opens and Hans is left swimming with Kim’s sharks. The North Koreans are being egged on by the Chinese, this is just a test of America’s will by the Chi-coms for when they decide to make their move on Taiwan. Unfortunately, Obama’s limp reaction will only hasten the day when China attacks Taiwan, they see a weak leader and now know they have nothing to fear.

And why isn’t this an act of war against South Korea?

These photos don’t show a little artillery shelling- this is the real deal. Amazing the death toll isn’t higher than 4.

Good point, why isn’t this considered an act of war? Mainly, becuase it was done by one of their “buddies”. Also, notice how the media is not ranting and raving over the civilian damages. If this were the Americans who did this same exact thing, the amount of reporting would have been off the charts.

This attack plus the one on the SK destroyer and China's threats against Japan are making two things clear:

a) the US is a paper tiger, and any security gurantees from the US are worthless;

b) any country that wants real security guarantees needs to kowtow to Beijing;

Cui bono? China.
