That’s just the way these companies are...they keep trying to make...dare I say it?...profits!
And to think that Orange County used to be very Conservative. Even the notorious Los Angeles Times was a mildly to-the-right newspaper at one time. Of course, I'm referring to the California I recall from the 50's and 60's.
That version of California exists only in small pockets (inland from the coastal regions) nowadays I suppose.
Just be sure that when they leave California, they also leave “liberalism” and collusive mentality behind them.
Check out these entities! They could be “contaminated” with liberal ideas.
“Leaving Cal. list grows to 144 firms”
What a bias the media has against small business! That number is MUCH larger than 144. Count all the small businesses that have left with their owners, and all the small businesses that WOULD HAVE BEEN large in the future.
How many future Amazons have left California, still in someone’s garage?
Or how many Dells have left, still in some kid’s dorm room?
Or how many Apples? The list goes on and on.
Not all companies can we now see!
Now calculate the cost of high regulations.
So you want to do business in California?

I guess Californians dont need jobs. God bless them.
It’s not just Californians. NAFTA saw thousnds of manufacturing jobs leave the US, and our politicians said it was good for America!
My friend Chuck Buck, owner of Busk Knives moved his production to Idaho years ago and the company is doing fine. He had that option, I don't. So the inevitable is bound to happen; I'm just putting it off as long as I can.
That number is MUCH larger than 144.
I believe you're right. I heard Rick Perry say that in the first 9 months of this year alone, he recruited 193 firms, and that's only the firms that moved to Texas.
And this doesnt include national companies that still maintain a presence in California, but have moved many of their support employees to other states. Some smaller technology companies have done the same.
My company provides a service in California but we now have 25% the number of employees we had four years ago. We have no plans in the foreseeable future to hire again, assuming were even able to maintain a profitable business to retain the remaining employees.
The company I worked for planned to build an asphalt terminal in Stockton on city (formerly military) property.
By the time the state air board, the county board, the neighborhood board and the Coast Guard got done with us, we built the thing in Reno.
Exactly. Washington State, Oregon and Colorado are already flaming blue states because the same failed-state liberals from California moved there and cheerfully voted for the same politicians who support the same policies.
I really don’t care.
An overwhelming majority of California voters have for decades voted for Democrats and liberals (Gov. Moon Beam).
Finally, reality will hit when they have driven the economic engine out of the state with their bizarre anti-capitalist laws.
Oh not to worry. All those hard working illegal aliens will generate plenty of taxes support the state budget.
Yep - Liberalism and its entitlement mentality has nearly destroyed Washington State. Not sure if these people will ever awake from their “give me what is mine” mentality.
Then there’s this....
It’s working. The enviros want no people. The goal is being achieved.
Makes me wonder how many have bugged outta NYS....
My sense is we are heading for an economic sesession shortly. Those states who have been realistic and have kept taxes and regs in tow are NOT going to want to underwrite the fiscally and regulatary out of control states like California and New York and a few others.
My Company being one of them, hello Mexico, hello Kentucky. My last day was yesterday.
What Upstate needs is its own state.
BTW, if the red bits of PA wanna come with us, works fer me, too :)
Only business predicted to thrive in CA: U Haul.
Amen to that. If they’re moving because of taxes and regulation but bringing their social liberalism which is the cause of those things, I wish they’d just stay put. Liberalism is like a parasite, it kills its host and moves to the next. People who call themselves “fiscal conservatives” while being socially liberal are fooling themselves.
U-Haul and Penske are also doing well in the northeast...
You know people are fleeing a state when they lose a Congressman or two...
good post - someone tell HP that the 200,000,000 they pay in CAlif. state taxes would be cut in half if they move into the properties that they own in Texas.
BTW, leave any egg stealing, dumb-a**, liberal/”Progressive” employees/partners in California. They and their ilk are the ones who drove you out.
Let La Raza have it. But with the stipulation that all registered Democrats must stay.
Bless you for your selfless efforts.
I heard a Californian say “we’ve got the weather” as if that was enough.
Was it a Californian who coined the phrase “the weather is beautiful wish you were here” ?
Ironically, there is a town named "Galt" in California.
This list includes entire companies, but there are divisions of companies even larger that have left. I know a division of 800 people that are now in three other states.
Got a company that needs about an acre or so under roof?
A truss company opened in my burg just as everything hit the skids & it is standing vacant. Brand new construction. Employee parking, large lot/area for staging materials prior to manufacturing. Directly adjacent to US Hwy 95-A & about 1/4 mile from U S Hwy 50. About 17 miles from Interstate 80.
I don’t know the name of the company that wanted to start the truss company, but with construction down to ZERO here in N Nevada, nothing is happening there.
If you want to Google Earth the location, it is on the west side of 95-A, about 1/4 mile south of Hwy 50. I don’t have the ability to Google Earth anything, so I cannot give you coordinates. The burg is Silver Springs. There are many empty houses lost in forclosure which could be had for decent prices, if you can get the banks off their asses & deal with the sales.
I suspect any state run by libtards is a gold mine for U Haul since all progressive utopias are losing population.
Nevada has NO state income taxes- for individuals or corporations. Look at your state tax returns—how much are you paying Calif to be there?
Look at the money you are deducting from your employee payroll & see how much they are paying to stay there.
Workmen’s comp is also lower.
I can try to help from this end with more contacts, if anyone is interested.
Its not just Californians. NAFTA saw thousnds of manufacturing jobs leave the US, and our politicians said it was good for America!
And the politicians in the European capitols said the European Union would be good for them.
Even the Swiss politicos and business leaders were pushing the country to join the EU for fear of being isolated from their biggest trading partners, but the people voted it down in a national referendum. I suspect the Swiss feel they made the right decision.
It;s “Weather is here, wish you were beautiful”.
Yes I have heard that too. :D
New York and Ohio are expected to lose TWO Congressmen each based on the 2010 Census...that’s a LOT of U-Hauls... :-)
The company I work for did this. It’s a small company though, only a few million/yr.
No need to be headquarted in California in the digital age.
aaah, too bad
My son had 3 corporations and 60 employees doing real estate in San Diego. The bottom dropped out in 2008. As a broker, his sole income was $395 per transaction for making sure all the paperwork was in order. That still amounted to almost $8,000 per month. When everything went to full stop, he lost his car and was having trouble making enough to even eat. I moved him to my 2nd house in Pocatello where he is doing much better.
Hang in. I'm prepared to drive to Omaha if my company decides to close up shop in CA. That's where the current customer is located. It's only 70 miles further away from my home than the current arrangement working out of Rancho San Diego.

I did not think there were that many people with hernias . . .
Sweden and Norway rejected it too. But they were thinking about joining.
There is no way they will join it now.
