Thousands of Ranches Abandoned in Northern Mexico Due to Violence
MEXICO CITY Thousands of ranches have been abandoned in the northeastern Mexican state of Tamaulipas by owners who do not want to end up like Alejo Garza, a rancher who died defending his property from a drug cartel.
Garza, considered by a hero by many in the region, refused to hand over his property to a drug cartel, which gave him 24 hours to leave his property.
The 77-year-old rancher barricaded himself inside his house and took on 30 cartel gunmen, killing four of them and seriously wounding two others before being slain.
The drug cartels, which have been engaged in a turf war since the beginning of this year, take over ranches and use them as bases, a Tamaulipas Attorney Generals Office source told Efe on condition of anonymity.

But there’s no reason to put the military on the border.
This is coming here next,Obama will have us just retreat and leave the place to invading animals.
Mexico just came north...
I have a friend that experienced this exact thing. He’s a legal U.S. citizen but his family owned a ranch in northern Mexico. The killers came in and murdered the mayor of the little town and burned down the family ranch. He had a few prized horses that he was able to get back and bring to Arizona. The family lost everything else. Unfortunately for him and the rest of Arizona, the commie lowlifes in Washington, Eric Holder et. al, see this kind of crap as America’s future and are willing to “absorb” these atrocities as long as they aren’t occurring in their beloved District of Corruption. Talk about an “out of touch” bunch of maggots. This regime is a disgrace.
Maybe we can send down millions of squatters to take over northern mexico

When the cartel gave him 24 hours to get out, he sent his ranch workers away and set up his collection of hunting rifles and handguns at doors and widows of his house. Since it's illegal for most in Mexico to own weapons, this was doubtless a lifetime collection (he was 77 years old).
When the cartel arrived and ordered him out, he answered with gunfire.
They had grenades and automatic weapons, but that old man with his hunting rifles and handguns killed four and wounded two and sent the others running.
He died, but if they take over the ranch, they paid in blood. It's a shame more of the people of Mexico don't have the means to defend themselves, and that their government is so ineffective at defending them.
We need military on our border, and I'm not so sure that it won't take military across the border to end this situation, before it becomes as bad on this side as it is on the other side.
...doing the jobs Americans won't do.
link to the violence....
very graphic (bodies no heads)(floating heads in an ice chest) but they tell the facts and they are scary

Guns and ammunition prices in Arizona are skyrocketing. So are sales.
I understand, what is not being reported for the most part, is thousands of Mexicans are fleeing into southern Texas...And it’s not being reported as they don’t want to encourage more to do the same...
I hope and pray that when my time comes, that I can go like this MAN. Not quietly into the night.
I agree that we need the military on the border, but it will never "become as bad on this side as it is on the other", because the militia will act. They might be called "vigilantes" when they do it, but unlike Mexico, we "do" have the Second Amendment and an armed citizenry.
Yes, preferably of the same sort as used to advertise their services in the back pages of Soldier of Fortune magazine.
with the fascist,America hating narcissist as our PINO, with North Korea attacking South Korea, and with our economy as well as many other nations in shambles as well, its a terrifying vision having these roving bands of animals on our southern border...at the first hint of trouble, they will flood our country and invade every town, city, farm,etc....it truely is a time to prepare....
Doing the job Mexicans won’t do.
Yep, Mexican citizens are fleeing the border.

“Juárez’s city planning department said about 110,000 houses have been abandoned in the past year. With no mail form, census workers need to knock on doors numerous times to ensure houses are indeed abandoned. “
