Posted on 11/27/2010 3:06:07 PM PST by T.L.Sink
Three more bills met Gov. Ed Rendell's veto pen, including one that would have expanded a person's self-defense rights to use deadly force in certain circumstances outside their home or car. The self-defense bill would have expanded Pennsylvania's so-called "Castle Doctrine" and offered immunity against civil lawsuits in certain cases.

When are they going to vote this worthless pigman out of office.
Well, you get what you voted for...
Ain’t it a shame...
Obviously, Pennsylvania will be a safer place to live now that you are not permitted to defend yourself...
Unless you are in a place of the “state’s” choosing...
When do y’all get a crack at throwing this scumbag to the street again???
If you can do it...
LOL@purple/union states! LOSERS!
They just elected a new, Republican gov. didn’t they?
Fifty two days until we get a REAL Governor of Pennsylvania—counting down to the end of the Philly Fats regime.
He is out in Jan. Republican Tom Corbi is the new Gov.
Anybody know what his future plans are?
P.A. now has a Republican Gov. and house and senate.Fast Eddie leaves in Jan.
Your post is just stupid.
I live in Pike County and can not for the life of me understand why people would vote for a guy like this. This guy who has done nothing but cripple this state and it’s hard working people yet made it a playground for entitlement morons. I hope the working class of PA will wake up soon and vote out this AHOLE who seems determined to deconstruct our Constitution.
right of self defense does not make it a right to say its self defense when its not, so I don’t know why he would oppose it unless one side with criminals
Swabbing out white house toilets...with his tongue.
What Rendell is doing is inviting criminals to move to PA.
Well, I guess we can count on you to do whatever it takes to keep him in office...
You’re doing a great job!!!
Let’s hear it for Ed’s number one fan!!! Woo Hoo!!!
Just out of curiosity I’d like to know why you think Stevie’s post was stupid. I don’t see a thing wrong with it..........
Am I getting warm?
“He is out in Jan. Republican Tom Corbi is the new Gov.”
Great news ,the trash got taken out.
“What Rendell is doing is inviting criminals to move to PA.”
Exactly I fail to see what these filthy Liberals see in allowing Americans to be unable to defend themselves.
<When are they going to vote this worthless pigman out of office.
What is wrong with the people of PA? I lived in Philly for 10 years and had gradually been voting for more conservatives and libertarians, but hadn’t changed my registration from Dim.
Well, ole Ed Rendell, who made some nasty remarks about there being no minorities at the national convention (which wasn’t true) made me so angry I finally got off my rear and changed my registration to the GOP. How does this guy still hold an elected office in PA?
“They just elected a new, Republican gov. didnt they?”
“Let me guess...Fast Eddy (and his family) have armed protection 24/7/365.
Am I getting warm?”
He should be made obey the same laws the rest of the people have too.
We have a new Governor in Jan. This is Rendell’s parting shot to screw with the law abiding.
I live in Crawford County and we all don’t have to worry about Ed Spendell anymore. It’s called term limits.
Ed Spendell, though, is not done. With his veto today and his history, he’ll be a perfect commentator on MSNBC. My prediction is that he will go for DNC Chairman (again) Or maybe a FOXNEWS anal ist, which he already is. But full time. GOD help us all. Yes, we still cling to our religion and our guns. Might yet be the savior to OUR REPUBLIC.
Shut up idiot. If you paid attention to PA State's voting returns, this state went right in a big way..
But its easier to paint state citizens with a broad brush when out trolling isn't it?
“Fast Eddy” is term limited and on the way out. This crap was his farewell legacy!
Fast Eddie is out in January, with Republican Tom Corbett assuming the governor’s office after winning the election. The legislature will pass this again rather quickly and Corbett will sign it. This was Rendell’s last gasp!
Keep up with the news, they did vote him out but the Republican doesn't take over until Jan.
So with a GOP governor coming in and a GOP legislature.Could this law be brought back next year and perhaps a different result?
He’s only in office until January!
I think the recent House elections mean that people have had enough of this liberal crap and are getting serious about taking their country back - from Obama and his fellow socialists and America haters.
Ummmm, I have a question: what if you run away (the Obama Doctrine) and the thug chases you? Are you ordered by law to run faster? Will the Democrat Party (Lawyers) throw you in jail because you didn't try hard enough?
Dimocrats/liberals believe in killing unborn babies and saving criminals and terrorists. That’s a fact!! They are perverted.
I think you’re in-coming governor is great and a real patriot!
I havn’t heard about any future plans but I’m sure we’ll hear about his bitching and complaining. But, on the good side, nobody can be another Bill Clinton who will only GO AWAY when he’s in his coffin!
Dimocrats/liberals believe in killing unborn babies and saving criminals and terrorists. Thats a fact!! They are perverted. They may ALSO be perverted... but what they are PRIMARILY is evil.
This passed by a large enough margin to override Fast Eddie’s veto. So regardless, his veto is irrelevant.
The Dems have Rendell, we have the Huckster. Two peas in a pod. Both pro criminal, anti victim.
Fast Eddie seems to think that”your home is HIS castle”!
When you describe something as “stupid” you should be prepared to defend your “analysis” (such as it is).
Perhaps you have no idea at all as to what the Castle Doctrine is about.
The ball is your court.
Make that “The ball is in your court.”
Not in that race for governor apparently...
Trolling??? Get real...I’m an observer with surgical skills that draw out folks like you and yer buddy there to react...
But since you and yer buddy reacted incorrectly, and instead of making a mature, objective analysis of what I was really getting at...Then I can say that I was right, Pennsylvania cannot get it done when it counts...
That really is not your fault, but the proof is in the pudding...
All I know is you have a governor that doesn’t understand the moral and unalienable right that is afforded to you and yer buddy there, that self defense is a right instilled by an authority higher than any government instituted amoung men...
If you as an elected official, candidate or citizen of that community do not have a basic understanding of that concept and are willing to go to the mat for it...Then it IS a shame...Some people, might even go so far as to say we have no use for ya...But I believe in people to do what is right eventually...
Lets see what else you came up with here...I see you couldn’t get it done in one post, but hey...I’m open to see what you have to say...
Ain’t that nice of me...
Rendell waited until the legislative session ended before vetoing a bill that passed the legislature by an overwhelming veto-proof margin.
When this passes next year -- and a veto-proof margin will not be needed since Corbett is expected to be willing to sign it -- Pa. will have a stand-your-ground law much better than most states by far.
So it is pretty stupid to diss Pa on this.
I wouldn’t vote for Huckabee but I won’t go that far! Huck at least is a good conservative on social issues while “Fast Eddy” scores a ZERO in my book in ALL categories!
How could Pennsylvanians NOT want to defend themselves?
Glad I don’t live there.
Session is over. Margin doesn’t matter. Bill has to be reintroduced.
That’s why we have civil and criminal courts!
