Have no idea what's wrong with the system this morning [appears to be fixed!]
November 28, 2010 | Jim Robinson

Have called John and left messages. No luck so far.

Here's hoping he gets it fixed soon.

Jim

When you get the “temporarily unavailable” message hit the “refresh” key (usually F5) and the page will load. Or at least that has worked for me every time. I’ve read all the way back to Friday, including the outside links.

I keep getting the ‘Service Temporarily Unavailable’ page, but the weird thing is that a click or two of the ‘refresh’ button at the top and it works fine. This post, for example, required ‘refresh’ clicks each step of the way, but ended up posting okay. (Or, I shall soon see...)

Well, I am now going to try posting this and it may take a few ‘refresh’ clicks...

Threads will work properly once "haroldhotelmanager" is put in as a keyword to them.

Some may get the reference. Some may not. Besides, I'm not even sure I've got it right myself!

I have SO been there! Its really frightening to take on a new contract and walk into a wiring closet that looks like that. You know right then that his jobs is going to have its frustrations.

Web founder leaves his mark on Facebook's wall
Richard Waters, 19:43, Wednesday 24 November 2010

If the man who invented the World Wide Web sounds irritated at Facebook, it's understandable. It's nearly a decade since Sir Tim Berners-Lee set out, in an article for Scientific American, his vision for the next stage in the web's development. It now turns out that Facebook is closer than any other web company to making that vision a reality - though not in quite the way Sir Tim intended.

His irritation was apparent in another article in Scientific American this week. In the view of the web's inventor, Facebook is busy carving off a large slice of the web for itself. It's a private database of social information that exists in a silo, "walled off" from other social networks.

I’m getting lots of double and triple posts on this thread—wonder if that’s part of the problem?

I HOPE and I do this in shoutout form, this was NOT a DOS or a denial of service attack. Not good if that is the case.
