For one thing, they had to wait for the kid to try to detonate the “explosives” to have a makeable case against him.

In that case, the only charge brought against him will be that of trying to detonate them. Somehow, I doubt it.

Too, why would the FBI do that in a city that has rejected being part of the Terrorist Task Force? Were I a member of the FBI, I would say let them burn, and let them come to us for help.

There never was any danger of Portland 'burning', so grooming the kid as an object lesson makes sense. Portland will now probably rejoin the Terrorist Task Force.

They gave him plenty of opportunities to take another path...to not do what he was planning on doing.

His dad was so concerned that he contacted the FBI.

What part of crazy nutjob kid don’t you understand?

For goodness sakes...he thought the people who were throwing themselves off of the World Trade Center on 9/11 was “awesome”!
