We've had a Republican majority in the TX House since the 2002 elections. We barely had a majority last session (76-74) with a speaker with more Democrat than Republican support, but now it's an overwhelming majority (99-51). We can achieve a quorum with just 1 Democrat showing up. They can forget about road trips to Oklahoma or New Mexico to shut down the legislature. It should be much easier to pass the voter ID bill this session!
No more excuses, right?
Thanks for setting me straight. I was so excited about the large majority we now have in the house...I assumed we didn’t have the majority until this election. Yippee...someone said on a thread now that Perry has such a large majority he can now govern more conservative. Which I think is BS...
Good for you guys. That will do more to hold the line than you know.We just had our first election here in Georgia where it was mandated everyone had to show ID to vote. The communist got their asses handed to them.I love OBUMMER dont you?
