Someone set fire to an Islamic center on Sunday, two days after a man who worshipped there was accused of trying to blow up a van full of explosives during Portland's Christmas tree lighting ceremony. Other Muslims fear it could be the first volley of misplaced retribution.
The charges against Mohamed Osman Mohamud, a Somali-born 19-year-old who was caught in a federal sting operation, are testing tolerance in a state that has been largely accepting of Muslims. Muslims who know the suspect say they are shocked by the allegations against him and that they had given them no hint of falling into radicalism.

The writer makes it seem as though the Somali suspect was only guilty of attempting to destroy a motor vehicle. I think it would be better to say that the Somali gent was accused of attempting to detonate a bomb with the intent to kill.

The first thing we should have seen and heard yesterday equal to the news reporting this attempt at mass murder is a denouncing from this exact Islamic center and also all representatives of the Muslim religion in America. Gee. I missed it. Why because it was not there. Misplaced? No. Retribution? Yes.

Did everyone note where the fire took place and how surgical it was? Whomever set it carefully avoided the "worship areas":
