(And So It Begins) McCaskill: How I'm not like Obama
The Hill ^ | NOVEMBER 28, 2010 | Bridget Johnson

Posted on 11/28/2010 5:53:48 PM PST by RobinMasters

Facing a tough re-election campaign in 2012, Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) tried to set herself apart from President Obama on Sunday.

Appearing on "Fox News Sunday," McCaskill said that she'd voted against the president on cap-and-trade, the second round of cash-for-clunkers, comprehensive immigration reform and every omnibus bill.

McCaskill said she'd also sometimes disagreed with Obama when he was a senator.

"My record of independence, frankly, stretches back for a long period of time," she said.

When asked to name an issue where Obama had fallen short, the senator said his move into healthcare legislation at a time when he should have been focusing on job creation was "very difficult," and therefore economic issues "didn't get the attention they needed."

If it were not for Barbara Boxer, McCaskill would be the biggest airhead in the Senate

A lot of times they play games like that if they know they don’t need the vote from a representative that a “yea” vote could hurt with their constituency on a bill.

Too true. Murray is our idiot. We came SO close to getting her out this last election. Too many moonbats in King County, I’m afraid. Plus, you have the dead voters, felon voters, double voters, and so on. But we’ve grown used to that.

Claire barely beat Jim Talent in 2006 and probably wouldn’t have except for polling places in ~specific areas~ staying open late. Her 2.3% win was hardly a mandate and she has every right to be worried!

Hate to burst your bubble, but you forgot Patty Murray. That puts "Love Pats" in third.

Yep, and my fat pig senator Deb Stabacow will be on that same bus to the DC airport.

The senate will be at least 600 lbs. lighter.

“I certainly noticed the vote on Prop C, the healthcare law, and message received,” Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Missouri) said.

McCaskill, however, makes the point that people “don’t realize” how beneficial the “mandate” for health care will be. “A lot of noise about the mandate that people have gotten so focused on that they don’t realize that there’s going to be more access and affordability and more choices,” she said.

She is sooooooooo phoney. Every time there was a ‘tight’ vote, like Health Care, TARP, etc, she would go on every network and cable show and say “I’ve got problems with (this or that), and they have to fix it or I won’t vote for it.” Then, they would N-O-T change anything and she voted for it, anyway. Then, she would stay away from the talk shows for a few weeks, so she would not have to answer questions on why she lied.

Watch for her the next time there is a controversal Senate vote and she’ll be on every show from Larry King to Koppel to Cooper to Blitzer to Morning Joe.

I do hope to see Jim Talent return to the Senate. He is one of the smartest conservatives and his loss in 2006 was a major blow to the Republican caucus.

The Bwitch has told Missourians that she would vote the way *she* wanted, and if we didn’t like it, we could vote her out. Well Claire, 2012 is a coming!

When asked to name an issue where Obama had fallen short, the senator said his move into healthcare legislation at a time when he should have been focusing on job creation was "very difficult," and therefore economic issues "didn't get the attention they needed."

Miss Independence could have ended the health care travesty anytime, and moved attention to job creation, by simply publicly announcing any time in 2009 that she would not be a vote for it, and instruction Reid to shelve it. But the fact of the matter is, she was all for it, and only regrets its passage as far as it endangers her reelection. Trash that must be taken out.
