Mark Ritchie File 4 here
Minnesota Secretary of State Mark Ritchie is regarded as a "non-party friend" by the Communist Party USA.
So highly does the Communist Party regard Mr. Ritchie, that he has been allowed to attend an high level "not to be publicized" Party meeting in Minneapolis.
Some of the Communist Party members at this meeting, later supported Ritchie in his Secretary of State election campaigns. One of them, labor leader Mark Froemke, went on to support two of Ritchie's Democratic - Farmer - Labor - Party colleagues - Al Franken and Mark Dayton in their respective election campaigns.
As Minnesota Secretary of State, Mark Ritchie's job includes overseeing the State's electoral recounts. In 2009, following a very controversial recount, Ritchie awarded a U.S. Senate seat to Al Franken. Currently Ritchie is overseeing another recount which could give Mark Dayton the Minnesota Governorship.
In this column, I post extracts from a four-page document I obtained during my research in the United States. The document was marked "Not for publication". As you read this post you will understand why. Click on any scanned excerpt of the document to enlarge it for easier reading. The documents in full and unedited are viewable on Mark Ritchie's page at our sister site KeyWiki - direct link here
Note in the first scan that Mark Ritchie is named as a "non-party friend" an honor bestowed only on the most trusted and respected of Party allies. Ritchie was allowed to spend the entire morning of an important Party meeting, addressing comrades from all over the U.S.
Ritchie and three of the Communists had just returned from the "Battle in Seattle" - the mass riots that broke out around the World Trade Organization meeting in that city.
Though he was an official U.S. delegate to the W.T.O. meeting, Ritchie gloats that the rioting and protests "stopped the WTO," and that "It is a tremendous victory".

Ever the skilled propagandist, Mark Ritchie then advises the Communists on how best to present their message - to use the more emotive term "food" rather than the harder sounding "agriculture"..
Here is a quote from it;
"Karl Marx, Frederick Engels and V.I. Lenin devoted much study to the "agrarian question." To prepare this report, I read for the first time parts of Volume III of Capital. "This natural productivity of agricultural labor (which implies here the labor of gathering, hunting, fishing, cattle raising) is the basis of all surplus labor," Marx writes. "So is all labor primarily and originally directed toward the appropriation and production of food. Originally, agricultural and industrial labor are not separated. The second joins the first." For Lenin, the strategy that underlay the Russian Revolution was the alliance of workers and the poor and landless peasantry. In the U.S., for much of the past century, the strategic goal of left and progressive movements was the creation of a Farmer-Labor party."Several resolutions were agreed to at the end of the meeting.
In the third, Mark Froemke agrees to try to organize an alliance of farmer and labor organizations.
Mark Froemke also went on to support Mark Ritchie's colleagues Al Franken and Mark Dayton - Ritchie, Franken and Dayton all serve on the advisory committee of Wellstone Action.
In 2008 Mark Froemke's Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers Union, Local 167G, endorsed Al Franken.
In October 2009, Mark Froemke was the Fargo Moorehead organizer for a 10 Days of Labor Action campaign for Minnesota gubernatorial candidate Mark Dayton .
Froemke did more work for Dayton in 2010. The pair were apparently very close as demonstrated by the Froemke/Dayton "manhug" shown in the January 2010 photo below.
The controversial 2009 recount. which confirmed Al Franken a U.S. Senator, was closely followed by the Communist Party USA.
The Communists were well aware that their Democratic allies, desperately needed Franken's 60th seat in the Senate. This was the "magic number"required to ensure that "progressive" legislation, such as the pro-union "Employee Free Choice Act" could be passed without the inconvenience of a Republican filibuster.
In the Communist Party's People's Weekly World, November 22, 2008, labor journalist Barb Kucera wrote an article, Minnesota euphoria over Obama win tempered by Senate recount, which quoted both Mark Ritchie and Mark Froemke .
"Whether Minnesota labor's massive effort to mobilize members in the 2008 elections was a success will ultimately turn on the results of a recount in the U.S. Senate race, Labor 2008 coordinators say.Clearly the Communist Party USA supports at least some sections of Minnesota's Democratic - Farmer - Labor Party. In particular the Mark Ritchie/Al Franken/Mark Dayton faction.
While most AFL-CIO and Change to Win unions backed Democratic-Farmer-Labor (DFL) challenger Franken, a few labor organizationsnotably the Carpenters and Pipe Trades--endorsed Coleman. After all the results were turned in, Coleman led Franken by only 215 votes out of just under 3 million cast. An official recount began Nov. 18 and could take a month, Secretary of State Mark Ritchie said.
Frankens race against GOP incumbent Norman Coleman is important nationally. To get pro-worker bills through the Senate, workers and their allies need 60 votes, out of 100 senators, to cut off GOP filibusters. That includes a presumed GOP talkathon against the Employee Free Choice Act, which is designed to help level the playing field between workers and bosses in union organizing and bargaining first contracts...
Independence Party candidates made the difference in the Bachmann and Paulsen races and definitely affected the Senate race, said Mark Froemke, president of the West Area Labor Council that spans the western half of the state. 'The Independence Party got a better number than I would have expected in this area,' he said."
It is also very significant that the Communist Party USA , an ultra secretive and highly paranoid organization, trusts Mark Ritchie enough to admit him to an high level secret ("not for publication") meeting.
If Mark Ritchie is willing to keep his connection to the Communist Party hidden from Minnesota voters, what other deception, or dishonesty is he capable of? If he was willing to help sabotage the 1999 WTO talks in Seattle, while serving as an official delegate, why should anybody trust him?
A senior Communist Party USA member, Mark Froemke, connected to Mark Ritchie, supported both Al Franken and Mark Dayton.
Mark Ritchie, the Communist Party's "non-party friend" was tasked with overseeing both elections.
Just who is Mark Ritchie actually working for? Where do his true loyalties lie? Minnesota voters deserve to know.
Secretary of State Ritchie, needs to answer some serious questions.
The integrity of Minnesota's voting system depends on it.

Gulag Night: Trevor Loudon on Mark Ritchie (Communist Vote Counter, MN)
Well researched and documented report by Trevor per usual. We need to push this as we have an unelected official representing the will of the minority.
So the Minnesota SOS has utilized the politics of the Soviet Politburo - to ensure that only Corruptocrats will win in HIS State. The plot thickens with another Communist in a position of authority at the State Level. The people of minnesota need to wake up and place this piece of trash in a landfill site. Be careul because Odumbo will be tapping this POS very soon for DC - Dumbcratic Corruption.

"Change will not come if we wait for some other person or if we wait for some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek"-- BARACK OBAMA
"The Communist Party USA views the 2008 elections as a tremendous opportunity to defeat the policies of the right-wing Republicans and to move our country in a new progressive direction.
The record turnout in the Democratic Presidential primary races shows that millions of voters, including millions of new voters, are using this election to bring about real change. We wholeheartedly agree with them."
After the election....
A Landslide Mandate For Change
A breakthrough election
Congratulations on an extraordinary history making election!
We can think back with pride to decades of hard work toward our strategic goal of a big enough, broad enough and united enough labor and all-peoples movement that could overcome the ultra-right blockage to all progress. That all peoples movement has come to life, it is dynamic and it has the potential to keep growing.
The election of Barack Obama and a strengthened Congress creates new conditions in our country. There is now the possibility to shift gears and move forward. This new day requires us to further develop our tactics in order to continue to deepen and broaden labor and peoples unity.
There are thousands of experiences that we all have had in these momentous days, some large, some small, all of which express the enormity of change in thinking and readiness for involvement that is underway and that steels us for the battles ahead.
The tears of joy we all shared as crowds gathered to watch the election results here and throughout the world dramatize the new moment we are in.
July 1, 2009...
Change is Here, Change is Coming
Sam Webb, National Chair, Communist Party, USA:
Let me begin with a simple observation: If the last 30 years were an era of reaction, then the coming decade could turn into an era of reform, even radical reform. Six months into the Obama presidency, I would say without hesitation that the landscape, atmosphere, conversation, and agenda have strikingly changed compared to the previous eight years.
In this legislative session, we can envision winning a Medicare-like public option and then going further in the years ahead.
We can visualize passing tough regulatory reforms on the financial industry, which brought the economy to ruin.
We can imagine the troops coming home from Iraq and Afghanistan while U.S. representatives participate in a regional process that brings peace and stability to the entire region.
In the current political climate, the expansion of union rights becomes a real possibility.
Much the same can be said about winning a second stimulus bill, and we sure need one, given the still-rising rate, and likely long term persistence, of unemployment.
Isnt it possible in the Obama era to create millions of green jobs in manufacturing and other sectors of the economy in tandem with an attack on global warming?
Cant we envision taking new strides in the long journey for racial and gender equality in this new era, marked at its beginning by the election of the first African American to the presidency?
And isnt the overhaul of the criminal justice and prison system a system steeped in racism no longer pie-in-the sky, but something that can be done in the foreseeable future?
All these things are within reach now!

Obamas Red Mentor Praised Red Army
AIM Report | By Cliff Kincaid | April 30, 2008
Barack Obamas childhood mentor, Frank Marshall Davis, a member of the Moscow-controlled Communist Party USA (CPUSA), wrote a poem dedicated to the Soviet Red Army. Smash on, victory-eating Red Army, he declared. He also wrote poems attacking traditional Christianity and the work of Christian missionaries.
The Red Army poem goes beyond hoping for the communists to beat the Nazis in World War II and hails the Soviet revolution. It says:
Show the marveling multitudes
Americans, British, all your allied brothers
How strong you are
How great you are
How your young tree of new unity
Planted twenty-five years ago
Bears today the golden fruit of victory!
Obamas Communist Mentor
AIM Column | By Cliff Kincaid | February 18, 2008
"through Frank Marshall Davis, Obama had an admitted relationship with someone who was publicly identified as a member of the Communist Party USA (CPUSA). The record shows that Obama was in Hawaii from 1971-1979, where, at some point in time, he developed a close relationship, almost like a son, with Davis, listening to his 'poetry' and getting advice on his career path. But Obama, in his book, Dreams From My Father, refers to him repeatedly as just 'Frank.'
The reason is apparent: Davis was a known communist who belonged to a party subservient to the Soviet Union. In fact, the 1951 report of the Commission on Subversive Activities to the Legislature of the Territory of Hawaii identified him as a CPUSA member. What's more, anti-communist congressional committees, including the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC), accused Davis of involvement in several communist-front organizations."
Frank Chapman, a CPUSA supporter, has written a letter to the party newspaper hailing the Illinois senator's victory in the Iowa caucuses:
"Obamas victory was more than a progressive move; it was a dialectical leap ushering in a qualitatively new era of struggle. Marx once compared revolutionary struggle with the work of the mole, who sometimes burrows so far beneath the ground that he leaves no trace of his movement on the surface. This is the old revolutionary 'mole,' not only showing his traces on the surface but also breaking through."

"Why did Barack Obama move to Chicago? Why did he choose a city famous for its corruption and distrust of outsiders as a launching pad for his political career? Did Obama's boyhood mentor, life long communist Frank Marshall Davis influence that choice?"
What a coincidence! He’s also George Soros’s fave SoS!!
I would imagine that something like 20% of professional Democratic politicians are just as communist as this guy. No one cares.
I’ve been told those aren’t real communists. Just as those aren’t real communists in Russia, Cuba, Korea, Vietnam, China...
Nope. Never has been any communism. All of that is “state capitalism” and other bastardizations of the true communist way.
But Fred Phelps’ Westburo Baptist cult are “true Christians”.
This I learned from the left.
I tire of having to say this, but I'll do it once more.
Our state also gave you Michele Bachmann, Jon Kline, Mark Kennedy, have just given you Chip Cravaack, and not a single Democrat governor in over 25 years (pending the outcome of the Dayton/Emmer recount). Our politics are deep purple here.
Yes, we occasionally elect moonbats (and sometimes Communists like Ritchie help appoint them) but we just flipped both houses of our state Legislature last November too. Educate yourself. We're far from a 'Soviet satellite state'.
He’s not the only one (but ugh I hate seeing his face on our news every night again now that there is another recount)
Communists no longer hide what theyre doing, they boldly spout their anti-American rhetoric at every opportunity
