Wikileaks and Crimes: Can this be a Possible Solution
Self

Posted on 11/30/2010 6:43:07 AM PST by indianyogi

What possible crimes can the group involved with Wikileaks be charged with? Seems like authorities are still struggling with this issue mainly because the founder of Wikileaks is not a U.S. citizen.

Under current definition, government documents do not fall under the copyright laws. Is it possible for Congress or the President using the Executive Order to declare all government originated material copyrighted? Furhtermore, can a provision be added whereby any government documents that are published by dumping as in Wikileaks to be declared intentional violation of Copyrights?

Once these materials are copyrighted under the national and international copyright treaty, the Wikileaks founder and his associates can be charged under that law.

It is an act of war.

The primary website where the documents are hosted should be in a big smoking pile of rubble..... This won’t stop the 50 zillion sites that have copies, but it will send a message to countries and providers who participate in acts of war against the United States.

There used to be some fairly effective counter-espionage operations run by this country but alas; we are in the age of obama and enlightened democrat party rule so the scumbags have nothing to fear and they walk.

If someone were to publish them on FR first, the site would be shut down by DHS and replaced with the DHS seal. Jimrob would be arrested and on his way to GITMO. The NY Times and the AP would throw in a lawsuit for good measure. Obama would use the excuse of keeping GITMO open just to keep this one dangerous criminal safely away from the US.

Yep. Wikileaks wouldn’t have anything to release if someone hadn’t released it to them.

Would not a copyright infringement be a civil matter, not criminal?

The US gov’t (and apparently gays in the military) make(s) for a rich target environment in this case.

The problem isn’t in charging them, it’s in having the stones to “acquire” those involved. Carville had it right.

Could this be intentional (the WikiLeaks), to further the Global Governance Agenda? I don’t think the leaks were published without an intent to distract from the core issue which is Copyrights “Globally”, whereby additional World Government oversight gets created.

All copywrite does is show ownership. We already know who the documents they leaked belong to.

I have a feeling that its more than just gays in the military. There are probably some high ranking leakers in the pentagon, CIA, etc.

Now wikileaks is talking about releasing info on some big banks.

This is a concerted strategic assault involving many players with a goal of stirring anger.

How do you turn a website into a smoking pile of rubble?

There is a server farm in some country somewhere. Here's how:

You notice the Regime doesn’t give a rat’s butt about it and in fact, likely is using it to create a diversion about the “Internet Neutrality” bull crap.

If we cared and if our side were in charge, we’d Mitch Rapp this thing.

If TSA can reach into our pants, they could have stopped this if they wanted.

I’m with you on this one. I’m sure a bill will be intrduced in the Congress to give DHS some control over the internet “for or security”.
