Can someone help me out here? What exactly does it mean to be censured? Is it just being called in front of the House and admonished for everyone to see?
To: AtlasStalled
Run him out of town on a rail!

I want to call to tell them he should be kicked out and have all his profits frozen and taken to pay back all the illegal money he has stolen. Then to frog march his sorry butt to jail.

Is there any possibility that he can argue he is a black farmer and is entitled to reparations for his properties here and abroad?

Censured means nothing. He should be tarred and feathered, and then run out of town for good. After he pays back everything, plus tons of fines, so that he’s broke, of course.

Well, if the Congresscritters pay as much attention to these calls as they did to our calls/emails/letters about Porkulus, Obamacare, and, most recently, FoodGrab -
Ol’ Charlie is toast......

Some dem PR firm will probably oblige him. Dems can fake some things better than others... Phone calls they can fake.
Dems have given up on "protests" and large gatherings - when everyone can see the buses, strings, paid goons and beefy union guys...

Yep! That is all it is. It is supposed to be some kind of great embarrassment. But it means nothing to Congress Critters. They will hold a private laugh party afterward for Charlie to get advice from him on how he got away with his criminal activity for so long.

Unless they are going to expel him, this is nearly pointless anyway. He committed criminal acts. He should be prosecuted. A house ethics committee decision is not a replacement for upholding laws. He needs to face criminal prosecution.

I think with a censure the mark has to physically stand in the well of the House while the Speaker slaps him/her down verbally. I don't know if others in the chamber get to speak, but it would be interesting if they did.
With a reprimand I believe it is something that's read into the record and the mark doesn't have to physically be there to take the "punishment."
The representitive that told B.H.O. "You lie" received a reprimand (I'd wear that as a badge of honor though).
