Ann Coulter: BRADLEY MANNING: POSTER BOY FOR 'DON'T ASK, DON'T TELL'

BRADLEY MANNING: POSTER BOY FOR 'DON'T ASK, DON'T TELL'
by Ann Coulter
December 1, 2010

The two biggest stories this week are WikiLeaks' continued publication of classified government documents, which did untold damage to America's national security interests, and the Democrats' fanatical determination to repeal "don't ask, don't tell" and allow gays to serve openly in the military.

The mole who allegedly gave WikiLeaks the mountains of secret documents is Pfc. Bradley Manning, Army intelligence analyst and angry gay.

We've heard 1 billion times about the Army translator who just wanted to serve his country, but was cashiered because of whom he loved.

I'll see your Army translator and raise you one Bradley Manning.
According to Bradley's online chats, he was in "an awkward place" both "emotionally and psychologically." So in a snit, he betrayed his country by orchestrating the greatest leak of classified intelligence in U.S. history.

Isn't that in the Army Code of Conduct? You must follow orders at all times. Exceptions will be made for servicemen in an awkward place. Now, who wants a hug? Waitress! Three more apple-tinis!"

According to The New York Times, Bradley sought "moral support" from his "self-described drag queen" boyfriend. Alas, he still felt out of sorts. So why not sell out his country?

In an online chat with a computer hacker, Bradley said he lifted the hundreds of thousands of classified documents by pretending to be listening to a CD labeled "Lady Gaga." Then he acted as if he were singing along with her hit song "Telephone" while frantically downloading classified documents.

I'm not a military man, but I think singing along to Lady Gaga would constitute "telling" under "don't ask, don't tell."

Do you have to actually wear a dress to be captured by the Army's "don't ask, don't tell" dragnet?

What constitutes being "openly" gay now? Bringing a spice rack to basic training? Attending morning drills decked out as a Cher impersonator? Following Anderson Cooper on Twitter?

Also, U.S. military, have you seen a picture of Bradley Manning? The photo I've seen is only from the waist up, but you get the feeling that he's wearing butt-less chaps underneath. He looks like a guy in a soldier costume at the Greenwich Village Halloween parade.

With any luck, Bradley's court-martial will be gayer than a Liza Minelli wedding. It could be the first court-martial in U.S. history to feature ice sculptures and a "Wizard of Oz"-themed gazebo. "Are you going to Bradley's court-martial? I hear Patti LaBelle is going to sing!"

Maybe there's a reason gays have traditionally been kept out of the intelligence services, apart from the fact that closeted gay men are easy to blackmail. Gays have always been suspicious of that rationale and perhaps they're right.

The most damaging spies in British history were the Cambridge Five, also called "the "Magnificent Five": Kim Philby, Guy Burgess, Anthony Blunt, Donald Maclean and John Cairncross. They were highly placed members of British intelligence, all secretly working for the KGB.

The only one who wasn't gay was Philby. Burgess and Blunt were flamboyantly gay. Indeed, the Russians set Burgess up with a boyfriend as soon as he defected to the Soviet Union.

The Magnificent Five's American compatriot Michael Straight was -- ironically -- bisexual, as was Whittaker Chambers, at least during the period that he was a spy. And of course, there's David Brock.

So many Soviet spies were gay that, according to intelligence reporter Phillip Knightley, the Comintern was referred to as "the Homintern." (I would have called it the "Gay G.B.")

Bradley's friends told the Times they suspected "his desperation for acceptance -- or delusions of grandeur" may have prompted his document dump.

Let's check our "Gay Profile at a Glance" and ... let's see ... desperate for acceptance ... delusions of grandeur ... yep, they're both on the gay subset list!

Obviously, the vast majority of gays are loyal Americans -- and witty and stylish to boot! But a small percentage of gays are going to be narcissistic hothouse flowers like Bradley Manning.

But since you brought up gays in the military, liberals, let's talk about Bradley Manning. He apparently released hundreds of thousands of classified government documents as a result of being a gay man in "an awkward place."

Any discussion of "don't ask, don't tell" should begin with Bradley Manning. Live by the sad anecdote, die by the sad anecdote

Back when I was in USAF Basic Training (1960s), we were given a special briefing, and we were told that any of us were "that way" and wanted to say so, we would be sent home and returned to civilian life.

The officer explained to us that the reason this path was offered was that homosexuals were a security risk. (The reason was repeated several times.) Nothing about offending anyone, only that homosexuals are a security risk.

"NO Clearence & NO Service!"

I support DADT EXCEPT where a Clearance above Secret is required.

When TS and any/all the special categories are required, folks must be squeaky clean and above blackmail...though it currently APPEARS Manning was not being blackmailed, we have yet to know that certainly.

That may be why he's still in solitary and the investigations seems to be taking so long.

IF blackmail is an issue any repeal of DADT will go in the OPPOSITE direction of the GAY Agenda.

As I understand it, back in saner times, being queer would block security clearance.

I don’t place any merit in another phony government study that says allowing gays to serve openly will not cause problems for the military.

Question:

Is a gay just more likely to be a leaker? ;^) . . . I think I know the answer to that one . . .

MILITARY: Marines lead opposition to repeal of ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’

MestaMachine to 444Flyer
Hi, 444! This whole thing can be summed up in two words...Bradley Manning.

No reason beyond that and what he did in a snit against his rejection by his “boyfriend” could better serve to illustrate the damgers of overly emotional and mentally/hormonally unbalanced “soldiers” present to this country and our fighting forces.
When I first saw this so-called “report,” every red flag I possess went up and so did my hackles. To force this “policy” on my beloved Corp makes me sick to my stomach.
DADT is at least performance based and if a Marine gets openly hit on, they DO hit back because I have seen it and the result is not pretty. Nor should it be.
If they repeal it, it will be open season on fighting men and officers because I can hear the cries of homophobia being used in every situation where these b@stiches feel put upon. And they will use any excuse they can find to diminish all the rules in place to suit their agenda.
They will advance in the officer Corp because we can expect “affirmative action” especially for gays. Now what happens when a straight Marine is hit on by an officer and hits back? It is untenable.

My theory is that Bradley Manning does not exist. He’s a photo-shopped image on Eric Holder’s computer whose function it is to divert attention from the fact that Obama intentionally leaked this information.

Isn’t it curious that they say he’s in solitary? Why do you need to put this guy in solitary, particularly since he hasn’t been convicted of anything? But it’s a whole lot easier to respond to media demands to talk to him if he’s in solitary. How convenient.

Annie better watch out, Ms. Bradley has a fan base...

"At a recent rally in support of Manning, peace demonstrators shouted “Blowing the whistle on war crimes is not a crime.” The slogan also appears on buttons and posters produced by Courage to Resist, a group based in Oakland that is coordinating with the Bradley Manning Support Network to raise money to hire an attorney to defend Manning. Documentary maker Michael Moore (director of “Fahrenheit 9/11” and “SiCKO”, among many others) has given $5,000."

Arlo Guthrie alludes to this in his 1967 anti-draft song, “Alice’s Restaurant.” He says something to the effect that if two guys together, at their draft physical, sing “You can get anything you want at Alice’s restaurant,” that “they’ll think you are both faggots and won’t take either of you.”

Yes. Getting a security clearance WAS once a serious matter. You WOULD actually be investigated by someone who knew what they were doing, and if you had issues, there was a reasonable chance they would be revealed.

Since the Clintons took over the White House in 1993, the security process went into the dumpster and never came out. It was as if the floodgates had opened. (See Gary Aldrich’s take on this in “Unlimited Access”)

There was a time being an open homosexual was not only a disqualifier for any kind of security clearance, you would have been ejected from the military without much preamble.

The fact of the matter is, allowing open homosexuality (or even unverified “look the other way” homosexuality as in DADT) not only does not fix the problem, it makes it worse. The reason is, that there are still people who don’t want it to be known that they engage in homosexual activity, even if one was able to do it openly.

That leaves people open for blackmail. That may well have happened in this case, postulated by people who don’t believe he did this alone. The sexual blackmail angle is thousands of years old, and works just as well today as it did back then.
