NEW HAVEN, Conn. — A Connecticut man has been sentenced to death for the killings of a woman and her two daughters in a gruesome home invasion.
Steven Hayes apologized for the crimes just before New Haven Superior Court Judge Jon Blue pronounced the sentence Thursday morning.
A jury that convicted Hayes in the killings condemned him to death last month.
Hayes sexually assaulted and strangled Hawke-Petit. Authorities say he and Joshua Komisarjevsky tied the girls to their beds, poured gasoline on or around them and set fire to their home in Cheshire.
Komisarjevsky goes on trial next year.
The disgusting part being that in truth and fact he will die of old age after living off of the taxpayer. The other alternative being early release so that he may run for public office and tour the talk show circuit where he will make millions.

Even with a horrible crime like this, it’s kind of surprising that a Connecticut jury and judge would impose the death penalty.
I agree with the earlier comments that he’s likely to die of old age before he exhausts the appeal process. But at least this is one hopeful indication that the people of that state haven’t lost their minds entirely to the invasion of liberal culture.
Slow impalement on a rough wooden pole, being lowered an inch at a time would do the trick.

No argument from me ... I like to think that the dying part will be easy on this vermin compared to what will follow ... like Ted Kennedy (D-HELL) I think he will meet with the proper afterlife. And, most likely, each other.
This a-hole has tried to kill himself a few times in the last few years. he has stated he wants to die. When sentenced to death, he smiled and thanked the jury. He says he wants to forgo the appeals process.
In light of all that, and being not only familiar with the trial but also very close friends with the responding officers, justice would be much better served by letting the ghouls in gen pop loose on him. Oh he’d be raped. And tortured. And ultimately killed.

CT has executed ONE person since 1976 (and he - serial killer Micheal Ross - WANTED to be executed). It is more likely that Hayes will die of old age than by injection.
Meanwhile, the lawyers make a ton of money off of endless appeals.
Whether you are for or against the death penalty, the Connecticut system of endless appeals is not justice.
Among their other forms of amusing themselves, they tied two girls to a bed ,poured gasoling on them and burned them alive. Just boys having fun.
The reason he said he was sorry, was because he got caught.
Also, bear in mind that Hayes looks like a Boy Scout by comparison with his partner in rape, arson, murder and terrorism against two young girls and their mom and in beating the dad senseless.
You would have to see and experience what a very nice town Cheshire, Connecticut, truly is to appreciate the effect of such crimes on the sense of personal security of everyone in that entire community.
IIRC, the bank, having figured out what was going on when the mom was taken there by Hayes to clean out the substantial family accounts, immediately called the Cheshire police with all relevant info and the Cheshire PD lollygagged for an extensive time while the arson, one or more rapes and the murders occurred. There was no reasonable excuse for the delay in that verrrrry low crime town. I lived in the town next door to Cheshire before moving to Illinois and I am very familiar with Cheshire.

At the actual sentencing, the argument was that 47 year-old Hayes was living a life that "sucked" and that his mother (there she goes again!) had given him only a few days to move out of her house (at 47 years old, no less!) which is not likely to be located in Cjeshire. Pooooor babeeee, don't you just feel for him???? I mean, being rudely kicked out of the nest to fend for himself at only 47 years of age! What's a guy to do?
Here's the Malloy-proof solution: Wait until his sidekick is convicted next year. Send both to Somers, the maximum security state prison, distribute photos of the crime scene and the victims in a packet given to each normal criminal at Somers and some or all of them will put an end to the appeals, the perps and give crime a marginally better name. Prisoners at Somers REALLY despise child rapists.
Buh-bye, sick critter.
And the court sentenced this CT man to death? So what? He will get 25 years worth of appeals at taxpayer expense or the verdict reversed on a technicality. Justice would have been that once the sentence was pronounced, this “wonderful” human being was escorted outside and treated to a collapsing platform with an attached rope. However, we are much too “civilized” for such barbaric things.
