The media is playing this as a big deal (by covering it), even while they admit it is all just theatre. Nobody doubted the outcome — did we think Pelosi couldn’t get a majority to vote for what she told them?

I think they only got 3 republicans.

Not good there John Boehner. I thought you were going to be tough and called it Chicken Soup or something. Well John you did not live up to your words. Ugh! Well perhaps when you are in charge you can add the 250,000 and above to the extension. I am sick of making 3,000,000 a year and having to support all these FREEPERS.....it is my daily cross...../sarc. Just kidding.

From link:

House Republican leader John Boehner pulls no punches as he describes the Democratic maneuvering on a bill to make middle-class tax cuts permanent as ‘chicken crap.

How can they pass a middle class tax cut extension, when the Bush cuts were only for the rich in the first place?

Im my opinion, this is all just a bunch of well-orhcestrated kabuki theater for the dopey masses.

Nothing will get passed, both parties will do what they do best, which is to point the finger of blame at each other, and everyone's taxes will go up.

I believe this requires an understanding of the Pelosi Bill. The real bill will have to come later. Boehner calls this one like it is “Chicken Crap”.

What John needs to do is collect all the keys to the Democrat offices and keep them in a big jar.

They'll have nothing to do for the next two years.

Quick facts about the Bush tax cuts for the “rich”

Did you know that on January 1, 2011 the personal income tax rate for the lowest tax bracket will rise 50% from 10% to 15%?

Did you know that on January 1, 2011 the personal income tax rate for the next highest bracket - 25% - will rise to 28%?

Did you know that on January 1, 2011 the personal income tax rate that is now 28% will rise to 31%?

Just who’s raising these taxes? That would be the Democrats by allowing the Bush tax cuts for the “rich” expire on December 31, 2010. If Bush only cut taxes for the rich, where did the 10%, 25%, and 28% tax rates come from? It seems to me there aren’t many “rich” people in the lowest tax bracket.

And btw, the marriage penalty will be making a much-heralded liberal comeback along with a rise in the capital gains rate (you know, the one for the 100 million “rich” people who own stock) from 15% to 20%.

That is actually a good idea. He is seriously going to have to do something to control the masses. I think he can do it but he is going to have to be stronger than he is. If you compare him and pelosi (I know we hate her), but she is a take no prisoner type and he needs to adopt some of that. I think he puts his personal feelings ahead of what is right (sometimes). She doesn’t give a sh!t what people think of her.....he needs that big time.

On the bright side, it may reduce the demand for gay marriage, IMO, the real and unspoken reason for that demand having so much visibility in the past few years.
