When soldiers don't fight, they get killed.
I have always said the NFL needs to pass out a standardized sheet of football players responses and a separate sheet of head coaches’ responses. They would be similar but customized. Response number one on both sheets would be something like, “We’ve got to play to their their weaknesses. They’re a good football team, but we’re better.” The next would be something like, “We’ve got to play better offense this week but we know we can beat them.” Somewhere along the line would something Rolle could have used: “Listen, we know we’re number one in our hearts, and our fans needs to support us.” This way, even idiots can stay out of mouth trouble.
Take your average firefighter and your average police officer, and compare their average life expectancy to the average life expectancy of a retired NFL player. The numbers are startling.
Lol! That’s not a bad idea. I like the way you think! :)
Oh, you so absolutely, positively HAVE to see this.
I wouldn’t be surprised if that isn’t what he hears the next time he steps foot on the field.
Pathetic verbiage.
Football players’ jobs are to play a sport. If they get hurt, it’s not like they got hurt trying to save lives, dealing with difficult and dangerous situations and people, or really do anything meaningful in the big picture. Football is entertainment. I found his analogy very offensive.
A career ending self inflicted injury.
Rammed his foot in his own mouth.
LOL!
Waste of good oxygen.
There was an article posted here a while back with lists of the most dangerous jobs in America and the most over-hyped jobs in terms of risk. If I remember correctly, both firefighters and police officers made the "over-hyped" list . . . mainly because the high-profile nature of the incidents involving them tends to exaggerate the real risk of those jobs.
Having said that . . . it IS true that athletes are entertainers and their comments should always be viewed with this in mind.
During this past election, the NFL donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to Washington State Democrats and nothing - zero, nada, zilch — to Republicans.
At our home, we will not be watching any NFL games during the forthcoming season. For my family, the NFL is dead!
I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree here. Entertainers getting injured entertaining will never rise to the level of public servants getting injured in the line of duty...at least to me. I’m sorry you see it differently.
I watch much less than I used to. I still get sucked in to the ongoing bronco soap opera. *sigh*
“If we execute our game plan well, we will win”
Amen. Whatta maroon!
Take their average paycheques....
A Jackwagon for sure!
