(CNSNews.com) -- Rep. Michele Bachmann (R.-Minn.), founder and chairman of the House Tea Party Caucus, told CNSNews.com that there will need to be an “insurrection” against the House Republican leadership if it does not hold an independent, straight up-or-down vote on repealing the entire Obamacare law that does not tie this repeal to other policy initiatives including any effort to “replace” elements of Obamacare with new federal health-care reforms.

A spokesman for House Minority Whip Eric Cantor (R.-Va.), who will be the House majority leader in the next Congress, told CNSNews.com in response to Bachmann’s statement that Cantor agrees with Bachmann and is committed to the vote she wants.

Agree. Vote #1 within 15 minutes of opening the House in January should be a full repeal of 0bamaCare. Up or down. Every name on the record.

Come on guys, this is the easy stuff. This is a stake in the ground with political consequences for each member.

It cannot pass the Senate or be signed, of course. But if the Republicans can’t shift themselves to pass a full-throated repeal of Socialism, we’ll go make a Third Party and put them out of business.

I am glad to see Cantor walking back his idiocy of a couple of days ago.

Before Boehner and company start messing with the health care system, they should deal with a whole host of other things first. Maybe they should wait until 2012 before they start looking into the health care laws they want to enact.

I agree with you in regard to offering "fixes" or "alternatives" to Obamacare. But the House should pass a straight-up total repeal bill on day one. One sentence. Repeal it all.

Pass this bill and send it to the Senate. Then do the same there. Let's get the 'Rats on record.

The Obamcare repeal will never pass the Senate, or override Obama’s veto. What is the point?

Obamacare must be repealed and it must be seen to be repealed. This starts now.

We pass a straight-up repeal in the House and force every Representative to take a side. (Then in 2012 we run against everyone who voted to retain Obamacare on this issue.)

We do the same in the Senate. Again all Senators must choose a side and run for re-election on their vote.

Then we defund and block Obamacare in every possible way between now and 2012.

In 2012 we run in all races (House, Senate, POTUS) on the platform that we will repeal Obamacare 100%.

I honestly don't know why you call this "political theater". It just seems like representative democracy to me.

I want to become more familiar with what it will take to surgically defund idiotic governmental projects and agencies. It will take brinkmanship and real stones.

Bachmann: ‘There Needs To Be an Insurrection’ Against GOP Leaders If They Don’t Hold Straight Vote to Repeal Obamacare

The Republican Party is suicidal if they don't fight Obamacare and The Dream Act. Either or both will ultimately push America's shaky financial situation over the edge. The GOP must apprise American taxpayers the link between Obama's buddy Soros and Assange's attorney, and the great giveaway of taxpayer dollars to resolve the debt of foreign nations, GE and McDonalds. It's time to take the gloves off with democrats.

No fiction writer could have dreamed this corrupt fantasy money-giveaway up.

We need to have this vote once a week until that tragedy is gone. We need to know who stands with us and who doesn’t, regardless of their party affiliation.

House Tea Party Caucus

This is the main purpose of the article, to create a caucus with a leader. The TEA Party has no leader, be careful here. Ms. Bachmann has to be careful, I hope she is not trying to hijack this thing.

They can’t just defund bills already passed and signed into law. So long as Obamao is president, GOP can’t pass anything without a veto override which is impossible in senate.

If Ryan becomes any more conservative he will follow Angle, O’Donnell, Buck & Hoffman into oblivion. A presidential run is much different than a congressional run in Wisconsin in a republican district.

Wait a minute, there are some provisions in the Health care Reform bill which are good. For example my college age kids are automatically covered on my policy until age 26. They can not afford policies of their own while full time students in college.

Your kids are full time students with no income through age 26? They can’t work to get enough income to support themselves 8 years into adulthood? I was on my parents plan though existing rules until I was out of undergrad and then I was on my own. At 24, any adult should be able to fend for themselves. With few health issues at that age an annual checkup and a cheap catastrophic policy is sufficient.

Better Michelle Bachman to be de facto leader of the TEA Party than FreedomWorks....the TEA PArty can forget it if they allow Dick Armey and his pro-Illegal Alien/Open Borders group to hijack the movement.

And Bachmann is right...lets have a straight-up vote. The object is to get those in the GOP on record to support overturning ObamaCare. Bachmann is just seperating the Conservatives from the RINOs

Congressman Steve King (best friend of Bachmann) says the first bill out of the chute with the new congress will be the full repeal of Obamacare.
