Help for our troopers with PTSD and everyone too!
The Patriot Outreach ^ | 12-04-10 | Colonel Monaco

Posted on 12/04/2010 10:31:19 AM PST by fabian

The stress from the front line war on terror often does not end when troopers come home. It is often difficult to fight an evil possessed enemy without that evil getting inside the good guy. But the Patriot Outreach supplies, free of charge, a highly effective calming exercise that will expunge that problem. Great for civilians too in putting one onto the path of real happiness!

I may be the only one here on Free Republic, but I really don’t appreciate ads to try and get me to buy something.

it is not an ad my friend...it is a free download for our troopers! And it is saving lives big time. Do you know how many suicides there are from battle stress?

I saw the free download but I didn’t download it. I hope it does help some people... I have experience dealing with those suffering from Post Traumatic Stress and this looks a little like snake oil to me... and a way to get names added.

agree to disagree...

PTSD. So what's the deal? Once a lie endures long enough rational people accept it? Maybe I'll ask Yeti unless he's under the weather with ADHD. Or the disease of alcoholism.

Have you ever wondered if perhaps our troops’s “PTSD”* is good and right?

We send them out to “defend our country” and to “uphold freedom” & “defend the Constitution” pressing upon them the extreme morality and justness of our cause... yet when they return what do they see? TSA screening & no-knock SWAT raids which blatantly violate the 4th amendment, the guy in NJ who was jailed [with a 7 yr sentence] for transporting his own firearms, talk of the ‘fairness doctrine’ & ‘net neutrality’, complacency when wikileaks put out military information but swift action when Dept of State memos were released AND the founder boasted that he had a hard-drive from a high-level bank executive (proof that either those that are politically connected OR those with large amounts of money are inherently more valuable to the government than the soldiers who are putting their lives on the line)... yeah, I think they have a right to be pissed and/or screwed up.

*I think that perhaps too much is lumped into the label of PTSD; certainly the broad range of symptoms cannot facilitate correct diagnoses.

Well, yes there is much hypocracy in our country for sure. But until we are on the front lines, when at any moment all of our worldly dreams and love of family could be ended in a second...then it is hard to know how badly these troopers are effected. It is not easy.

“But the Patriot Outreach supplies, free of charge....”

Perhaps you missed that part.

I went to the site and while one can donate, there does not seem to be any charge.

PTSD is very real and difficult to live with. I am for ANYTHING that may help those suffering from PTSD.

Costs a lot of money for such a big chunk of bandwidth to provide this great site for us - ads help foot the bill - little enough to put up with for the reward, well, in my estimation.

I would be more interested in serious studies done on the issues raised in this article.

http://newsblaze.com/story/20101015100955rose.nb/topstory.html

Are Soldiers Suicides Caused by Prescription Drugs?

“Not only are more troops dying from their own hand than combat says the Army report, titled ‘Health Promotion, Risk Reduction, Suicide Prevention’, 36 PERCENT OF THE SUICIDES WERE TROOPS WHO WERE NEVER DEPLOYED.”

This is a well written article....and brings up some interesting concerns.
