Graham: GOP 'made some pretty poor choices' for Senate candidates this fal

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said that Republicans "made some pretty poor choices" in choosing their Senate candidates this fall.

Graham, in a Senate floor speech on Saturday, made an aside comment underscoring the frustration the GOP faced after some Tea Party-aligned nominees fell short in their campaigns.

"The House had a dramatic election. We picked up seats in the Senate," Graham said, video of which is posted by C-SPAN. "Some of us thought, maybe we could pick up two or three more, but we made some pretty poor choices when it came to candidates."

The South Carolina Republican made the comment as an aside to remarks about the consequences facing lawmakers who vote to allow an increase in taxes. Senate Democrats fell short of the necessary votes in a rare Saturday vote that would have allowed taxes go up on top earners.

Lindsay Graham ... stick to the job you were elected for. Represent your own state and do not tell me who I should elect in mine! Darn RINOs

I’ve been saying that for years. LG was one of the poor choices.

That reply “Wise words!” was to reply #3, which is a basic STFU to Sen Graham.

As a percentage of seats up for grabs (33 vs 435), the pick up in the senate was more dramatic than the house.

The Tea Party movement has energized limited government advocates. They won’t sit out next time, and Graham will not win another primary in South Carolina.

Linda needs to sit down and STFU. But she won't. But that's okay really. 'Cause everytime she opens her mouth she alienates more SC voters.

Keep talking Lindseed, we're keeping count.

It’s called a PRIMARY, Lindsey. LOOK IT UP. The voters SPOKE. THEY CHOSE. And in 2014, they are going to speak loud and clear here in SC in the Senate Primary, and choose someone other than YOU. And THAT will be the BEST choice Republicans in SC will have made in AGES.

To bad he doesn’t listen.

We have two in Texas who seem have not gotten the Nov 2nd message either. I think KBH will not seek another term, and Juan Cornyn had better take off that rino horn, or he wil be history as well.

Unfortunately in ny, voters are too dumb to realize what we are all in for. The big cities run the state. Maybe someday it will change, but people on the conservative side are leaving. If we stay and fight the battle, who knows maybe in time it will change.

We are unlucky to have Austin so close to our districts, and that allows the hippies and ut students to vote for the libs here. One state house rep race was too close to call after Nov 2, by 15 votes for the (d) and the recount showed the (d) lead had decreased to 12 votes.

BUT, the (d) election clerk did not count all the military ballots properly. Instead she counted only the for said candidate, even though most of the ballots were straight (R) in all the statewide and national races. Hopefully, the state legislature will seat the (R) house rep because of that.
