Investigation of Japanese Mafia in Mexico

(Mexico City) Mexican authorities have opened an investigation to determine if the Yakuza, or Japanese mafia, are involved in trafficking of drugs to Japan. It began with the arrest of Eriko Kuratomi (51), known as ‘The Casio’, the network leader. He lived in Guadalajara, and recruited women in the capital to smuggle the cocaine inside their bodies. The women were met at the Narita airport, taken elsewhere and delivered the drugs. His capture occurred when three women transporting drugs in their genitals were caught at the airport.

I recall reading about her a couple months back here on FR. Common consensus was she was a dead woman walking.

She had guts though.

Executed and not murdered?

Does that mean that these killings were done by vigilantes — representatives of the larger society?

Since Acapulco is a tourist destination, maybe those executed were just bad tippers and the waiters and waitresses just had had enough. We don't want to rush to any faulty conclusions that "Mehico" is just a cesspool of NARCO CARTELS and is inhabitable by decent human beings.

I was wondering how long she'd last. Sorry to hear this.

Power in Mexico is shifting hard to the cartels. We have a failed narco-state on our southern border. If we think we've been inundated with border jumpers up to now, we haven't seen anything yet.
