TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Dozens of ultra-conservatives plan to gather in Bartlesville Monday night to protest the Legislature's plan to focus more on the economy than on social issues.
The more conservative Republicans, including tea party members, want lawmakers to focus on abortion restrictions, immigration and fewer regulations on firearms. Republican leaders who will direct the agenda want to concentrate first on improving Oklahoma's struggling economy.
Charlie Meadows, with the Oklahoma Conservative Political Action Committee, said Monday he expects up to 200 protesters.
Meadows says Monday's gathering at the Bartlesville Community Center is a way to send a message to Republican lawmakers that voters don't want them to be "puppets on a string."

You can’t be a social liberal and an economic conservative because being a social liberal requires you to take from some people and give to others.
When did this media outlet ever tag an individual or group as “ultra left wing?”
We've come a long way, baby.
Ultra right wing. This in a world where Democrats call Obama “center right”.

I don't see why they can't work on all these things at the same time. Saying "we need to work on this first" is just an attempt to appease, hoping the people will forget the other stuff that needs to be worked.
The same Pravda Media and RINOs will tell you that sort of rhetoric is "name calling" and "divisive". They will point out that if what Obama is proposing is Socialist, then so was the Great Society and the New Deal proposals...

Bible thumpers and their social issues are what kills the GOP with independents and what puts the Dems in office. They give the GOP a bad name. They should form their own party. The GOP should stick with lower taxes, a strong defense, and defense of the Constitution.
I have a theory about the radicals.
The same engine that produced Communism also produced the hippie movement and its current by-products: Radicals.
Remember in the 60's when the hippies were called "radicals." Well the problem is now they're "free radicals." According to medical science, when cells in the body encounter a free radical, the reactive radical may cause destruction in the cell.

Same is true here. These red-diaper-doper baby "free radical" hippies and their issue are slowly destroying the cells of the body politic in America.
The so called peace movement in the 1960s never asked the Viet Cong to lay down their weapons. The leaders of the movement were decidedly Pro-North Vietnmese Communist military.
So, how are you gonna pay for the consequences of those behaviors that you think “bible thumpers” should keep their nose out of?
Seriously, you can’t be a true libertine if you “force” people to pay for the consequences of their own behaviors.
I don't trust the GOP.
The leaders of 1960s and 1970s (Weather Underground only existed for the last 2 months of the 1960s, and acted violently into the 1980s) radical groups have BECOME the establishment today (academia, media, and political).
Barack Obama is an heir to that legacy and he wrote about that. He’s a proud life long red diaper doper baby.
He hasn’t acted as far as his liberal base would like, but he couldn’t even manage to get his OWN party to push his legislation when there was no opportunity for Republican opposition (fillibuster, veto, etc.).
He doesn’t want to blow his dumb Democrat demographic who still don’t believe he’s as left leaning as he was in the Senate. When he has left office, it’ll be easier to appraise just how left his policies and deliberate blunders have taken America.
Note to Oklahoma Republicans:
Clean out all the illegals in your state & keep them out.
That will be a giant step in improving the economy.
You cannot get your own people back to work & off the unemployment lines when you have illegals willing to work for $5 an hour under the table.
The right to life, citizenship, and the right to bear arms are all mentioned in the Constitution. The economy is not. How sad is it that one is now “ultra-right wing” for demanding that the government only do what it’s supposed to do?
The Democrats secret since their beating in 2004 has been to “close the god gap” and highlight “the religious left”.
They seek to frame arguments like Obamacare in biblical language and distance Obama from his support for homosexuality and abortion. He couldn’t have managed 90% of the church going black vote without denying his stance on abortion and homosexuality.
