Washington, D.C. - Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Janet Napolitano today announced the expansion of the Department's national "If You See Something, Say Something" campaign to hundreds of Walmart stores across the country - launching a new partnership between DHS and Walmart to help the American public play an active role in ensuring the safety and security of our nation.

"Homeland security starts with hometown security, and each of us plays a critical role in keeping our country and communities safe," said Secretary Napolitano. "I applaud Walmart for joining the ‘If You See Something, Say Something' campaign. This partnership will help millions of shoppers across the nation identify and report indicators of terrorism, crime and other threats to law enforcement authorities."

If You See Something, Say Something

I see bureaucrats and a gov't agency out of control.

OK... and I’ve certainly got no love lost on Napolitano, but this basic idea has been around since after 9/11.

What should we be asking people to do? If you see something that “just doesn’t look right” that might be a sign of a terrorist act in planning or operation... what are you folk saying? That people should do nothing and go on about their way? I don’t see any problem with asking people to be alert, and to do something when something doesn’t look right, and that’s all this is.

If you sent ICE into any Wal*Mart here in California the place would empty out in about 2 seconds. Really? “See Something Say Something” ... ooooh pretty tough talking there ... Dang these people in the Obama administration are irritating!!!

TRANSLATION:

We at the federal government want to continue our programing of our nations people to get worse and worse at turning in people for anything so we can use your newly heightened suspiciuous natures to be our little spies for everything.

maybe we should each call and report that a guy in a beard and a turban stopped a clerk and asked in what aisle the bomb timers were stocked...

If I see a Mexican, I can't tell NIS because that would be "profiling".

If I see a gang of black youths at 3:00am in a suburban neighborhood, in a van with lights off driving slowly down the street; I can't say anything because it would be "racial profiling" to have the police stop them and ask them where they got all those color TV's and silverware and jewelry in the back of the van.

What kind of doll-house, tinker-toy, Where's-Waldo world do these libtards live in?

This sounds like the kind of suggestion you'd get from a women's convention on fuel injector maintenance.

It's Affirmative-Action thinking - act cocky and throw out some buzz words and they'll think you know what you're talking about...heck, obama does it all the time.

You don't suppose Walmart is trying for some PR rejuvenation with that Supreme Court case pending, do you?

And how about the nerve of Napolitano...for weeks she's been literally shoving body gropes and nudie-Xpics all over us, and NOW...she's asking for OUR help in doing HER job.

Good luck with that.

what doesn’t “look” right is the Gate Rapist in Chief has her butt ugly mug or message in a place that we have to see it. We don’t need no stinkin government to tell us what to do. If you haven’t figured that out you need to exit life forthwith and quit wasting air in my universe.

jes saying

Uh... what did I say, exactly that has you now wishing for my death?

I think if I see somebody assembling a bomb in the back of a truck, I wouldn’t just ignore it. I’m not sure why you responded the way you did.

Somebody that turns in a potential terrorist is a “snitch” to you? Somebody that should be killed?

Good Lord... what’s happened to FR today?

Can ya imagine THIS happening in the near future:
(over loudspeaker)
"Attention Wal-Mart Shoppers"
"There's an apparent Suicide Bomber in Aisle Five.
Will all shoppers calmly walk to the nearest exit".

"That is, all shoppers except for YOU, Mohamed.
Joe, in Sporting Goods, has a.308 aimed at your head."

"Thank you for your cooperation, and for shopping at Wal-Mart."

:-)

NOTE: I'm not mocking Wally-World. Far from it.
Recently an on the ball employee in the Order Dept caught someone trying to commit FRAUD with our credit card. The attempted fraudulent purchase(s) didn't match our buying history.

[So we'll go out of our way to shop there now. That Wal-Mart employee saved our bacon.]

Social conditioning of the feeble minded, meek and dependent classes to enhance the powers of the totalitarian police state.

Khmer Rouge and East German Stasi comes to America.

This is just more rubbish from that incompetent cow, Napolitano .

Let’s not forget the nine-page document was sent to police and sheriff’s departments across the United States on April 7, 2009 under the headline, “Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment.”

It says the federal government “will be working with its state and local partners over the next several months” to gather information on “rightwing extremist activity in the United States.”

The joint federal-state activities will have “a particular emphasis” on the causes of “rightwing extremist radicalization.”

A footnote attached to the report by the Homeland Security Office of Intelligence and Analysis defines “rightwing extremism in the United States” as including not just racist or hate groups, but also groups that reject federal authority in favor of state or local authority.

“It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single-issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration,” the warning says.

I’ll bet I am already on the list......
