WASHINGTON (AP) — Elizabeth Edwards is gravely ill and doctors have told her she only has weeks to live, according to a family friend who is among those who have gathered with Edwards at her North Carolina home.
The family issued a statement Monday that said doctors have told her that further treatment for her cancer would be unproductive, and the family friend further described Edwards' condition to The Associated Press.

I think she is a tough lady in a good way her politics aside.

I read her book and it was frankly great (minus the liberal stuff—but there wasn’t much politics in the book).

And what does anyone want to bet that he will show up as the grieving husband at her funeral.

May this brave woman rest in the arms of Jesus. From all I’ve heard and read about her, it seems that she experienced more than her share of hell on earth.

That's certainly a relief.
I'm not sure that reminding people that we're being watched by people who wish harm to this website is an admonition, but you have as much right to your opinion as anyone.

Yes, I do feel for Elizabeth and will pray for her...
He needs to be at the funeral for his children, regardless of the wrongs committed in his marriage. I won’t fault him for that.

He’s so gross. He’ll grieve for the publicity then run off to marry his little sweetie. Prayers for her peace and for her children.
God give her the strength and courage that she needs at this
time to go through this ordeal.
Ms Edwards never struck me as a militant, rabid lib. She always seemed sincere about beliefs (however misguided) and of the ‘old fashioned’ type of democrat. Her husband is scum and he has a special place in hell waiting for him. He and Al Gore used their women up and in typical style of a man who discovers ‘power’, abandoned their families.
God be with you Elizabeth. You are in many prayers.
As much as I don't like John Edwards, this is a no win situation for him. (Well deserved I might add.) If he shows up he is a crass hypocrite, if he doesn't, he's an uncaring monster. Either way he loses, that because either way, folks would be right.
