WASHINGTON (AP) — Elizabeth Edwards is gravely ill and doctors have told her she only has weeks to live, according to a family friend who is among those who have gathered with Edwards at her North Carolina home.
The family issued a statement Monday that said doctors have told her that further treatment for her cancer would be unproductive, and the family friend further described Edwards' condition to The Associated Press.

When I read this, I felt terrible. It is really a shame and I wish her peace at last.
The second thought was john edwards should burn in hell for eternity.
I’m a cancer survivor, at least for today. I wish her the very best. If this is the end, I hope that she goes with dignity.
She will be remembered in my prayers.
Prayers for Elizabeth and those who love her. If a miracle is not to be had, may she have a comfortable and easy passing, and may her family and friends find the strength they need to make it through this very difficult time.

The days of our lives, for all of us, are numbered. We know that.”
Sad...after all she’s been through.

Prayers up for this mother and her children. Cancer is still yet to be tamed in our time. Prayers that our medical system survives long enough to find a cure and a way to extend lives.
Cancer is a terrible disease. Prayers going up for her and the family. My husband died of liver cancer, and 3 close cousins died from it in a 10 months period of time and 2 more have it.
No person, no matter the political persuasion, should have such an illness wished upon them. I pray that the Lord would make Himself known to her and provide either a miracle of healing or a peaceful passing...not to mention her salvation.
