A TEMPORARY extension of the tax cuts? TEMPORARY?

And MORE unemployment "benefits" to the chronically jobless? WTF?

The death tax STAYS?

MORE stimulus?

The GOP CAVED! This is NOT what we voted for?

This is a sell-out. The TEA PARTY IS WATCHING!

And it solves nothing. Just pushes the can down the road. Only way problems will be solved is after it is way too late. Federal bankruptcy or worse and it may be too late already. No guts, no glory, no meaningful solutions.

My email to my Congress Critter (a Republican) follows...

I just heard Obama's announcement of the new deal (tax rate extended, Unemployment extended, etc.) Why did you guys cave? All that you had to do was to hold out for another month! Why give up when they are gasping for air? Are there any real men in Washington anymore?

continue unemployment benefits for an additional 13 months and cut payroll taxes for workers to encourage employers to start hiring.

Hungry bellies fuel revolutions....it's not time yet.

“WE the people” This is where this is all wrong. It’s WE. Reagan, the last smart president, remember the Soviet missle attempt...demanded all or nothin. And the Soviet’s backed completely off.

Here, the demand should have been FOR ALL, or nothin. ALL unemployed (not those only who are coming off U.E.), should have the EXACT same benefits (”equal rights” their mantra). Instead we have in reality DISCRIMINATION against the rest of the unemployed.

Demand all or nothin..and this whole inside for Beltway deal would have “vanished”....

I think what many here are forgetting is that this is the “lame duck” session, and while the GOP Senate may be able to block what Obama and the Dim majority want, now, they are not yet in the position they will have in January when they will be in charge of what is approved in the House.

They are at this time in a “glass half full” position, and they got half-a-glass.

Wait until January and beyond January. These fights with Obama are not over with this skirmish, when they do not yet have the House majority.

Two Years. Two friggin’ years. That’s it? They sold out for TWO YEARS! Too many people worked too damn hard and spent too much money to get TWO YEARS. So much for a 65 seat swing.

The leadership needs a pair from Hilary

I’m not surprised because the Keystone Cops leadership’s past behavior (not words or blubbering through an acceptance speech) never made me think that the Lucy/Charlie Brown/football Pubbies would act any different. I have written often that the fossilized, ruling class elite, GOP cave-in-crowd leadership will always fold like a cheap lawn chair. Until the Pubs get new leadership more enamored with the future of the country than kind words in the Washington Post and invitations to the cocktail circuit, this will continue.

God I’m disgusted.

Not to put a damper on 0’s hopes, but unless 0’nazicare is repealed companies won’t start hiring in the numbers that will matter. Then there is the drilling ban that killed several thousand direct oil related jobs, and many more thousand of support jobs.

You didn’t vote for this. What you voted for happens on January. That’s why they are pulling this crap.

Best thing to do is look at every republipuke who voted for this and vote him out in 2012.

And in two years we will go through the same process; and the Dems will force the GOP to drink another shot of poison for another two year extension, ad infinitum.

This round certainly seems to go to Obama. The GOP took it in the backside once again as they seem to like doing from the progressives. It would certainly appear that they just didn’t get the message the Tea Party sent them this last election. Time to continue thinning the ranks of the sickly stinking RINO’s and nauseating blue-bloods with McConnell leading that sickly pack!
