The History channel has been pretty worthwhile today.
Thanks Lori.
Wife and I visited Pearl last March.
This is a somber day.
It was 69 years ago today ... the sneak Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Here's a holiday that unfortunately seems to be fading into history. There are still WWII veterans away today who were there at Pearl Harbor when the Japanese arrived in their Zeros. If you know one, honor them on this day.
Oh ... and by the way: After 69 years it's still the "Japanese Attack on Pearl Harbor." After 9 years we can't bring ourselves to say the Islamic terrorist attack on America. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That was amazing to watch.
Thanks.
Thank you for that video wow what a difference in reporting compared to today, I was surprised I hadn’t seen much about this today and I don’t think we should forget this part of our history.
My Father was at Schofield Barracks in Pearl Harbor on the morning of the attack. He was getting breakfast “when all hell broke loose”. That’s all he’d say about it. He was also in Korea and 2 tours Vietnam. He passed away in 2005 and is in Arl Nat Cem with full honors.
He was a tough as nails Master Sergeant but the nicest, warmest Dad ever. Would do anything for anyone. Loved his country. He always taught us “God, Country, Family. That’s what matters. Don’t worry about much else”. Just thought I’d brag a little. Good day to do it.
Google forgot. A sneak attack by an Asian nation is not sufficient a celebratory mulitcultural event for Google to want to remember the day of infamy we were never supposed to forget. Google owners are communists anyway. Only PC is allowed. We have blown so far beyond Orwell’s “1984” it isn’t funny. If Orwell were alive today he would not believe the PC nature of the USA and all of the things he didn’t even imagine would happen when he wrote his book.
In that report is the term “Jap treachery”. They had no problem back then calling it like it was. Today we can’t bring ourselves to say “Islamic treachery”. Sad. We are doomed. If we can not even name our enemy we have no chance.
ANY day is a good day for men such as your father. God bless him and all those who served and are serving.
Pray for our troops.
I am so glad he was there for our country, and it is nice to see how glad you were that he was there in your family. May he rest in peaceful splendor until it is time ...
