Now some fresh pickings from the Political Grapevine: Video
Members of a bipartisan group of lawmakers called the Congressional Prayer Caucus want to make sure President Obama knows the country's national motto.
Forty-one Republicans and one of the five Democrats from the caucus sent a letter to the president asking him to correct a mistake he made during a speech last month in Jakarta, Indonesia when he said -- quote -- "In the United States, our motto is E Pluribus Unum -- out of many, one."
The lawmakers point out the official national motto -- approved by Congress in 1956 -- is "In God We Trust." The letter calls it -- quote -- "a disservice to the people you represent."
Caucus leaders also point out President Obama's omission of the word "creator" on more than one occasion when quoting from the Declaration of Independence.

Oh you right wing extremists on this site are so hateful.
Instead of focussing on the President mistakes -and they are all things that mean nothing to him what you should be doing is forming a line of folks who want the President to fist them. That he would find more pleasurable.

That’s from our Star Spangled Banner, not Barry’s.
OK, but why not Tony Dungy, or someone who knows something ... anything? When the present recumbent is through, a black man will not be able to run for dogcatcher in Catville.
You can’t blame O. It’s the people who put the words on the teleprompter who made the error - he just says what he reads, and certainly can’t be expected to know when it’s wrong!
The motto IN GOD WE TRUST first appeared on an American coin on the 2¢ piece 1864
“We find unity in our incredible diversity, drawing on the promise enshrined in our Constitution, the notion that we’re all created equal, ...” President Barack H. Obama, State of the Union Address, January 29, 2010
This motto misfire is somehow a surprise?

Obozo would simply have stated, “E Pluribus, ME!”
For these type of people, it is probably skin color first, then political views second. Maybe this also explains the treatment Clarence Thomas gets.
Dungy did say in 2008 that Obama is "great for our country." http://nfl.fanhouse.com/2008/09/01/despite-tony-dungys-conservative-views-says-barack-obama-is-g/
The President’s lot is not an ‘appy one, Sir.
Asking for a sarcasm tag for a statement like that on a website like this is a great filterer...if you know what I mean.
Ask him now! BHO, Jr.'s "Black Base" is IMHO, somewhat less enthusiastic now than his white leftie supporters. In fact, his poll numbers among African-Americans have sunk to an alarming 97.5%.
Very acute, Sir. Clearly yours is not as empty of brains as a ladle.
The NappyOne, with some help from G&S
I am not sure what he would say today. I know that Dungy did not want to be a part of the White House Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships in 2009. He also said at the time that he still wanted to be involved in Obama's work. (http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/story?id=7580172&page=2)
Maybe Dungy would not publicly comment.
It *IS* great that we can elect a black president. I'd prefer one with more qualifications than the legal minimum, but some people have lower standards.
"E Pluribus Unum" IS in fact, A motto of the USA, and has been for over 200 years.
The fact of the matter is that Congress has approved MORE than one motto--and E pluribus unum is technically the motto for the SEAL of the USA.
"""""""""""""""""
E pluribus unum (pronounced /ˈiː ˈplʊərɨbəs ˈuːnəm/; Latin /ˈeː ˈpluːrɪbʊs ˈuːnũː/), Latin for "Out of many, one", is a motto on the Seal of the United States, along with Annuit cptis and Novus ordo seclorum, and adopted by an Act of Congress in 1782.
"""""""""""""""""""
Just because Congress said in the 1950s "In God we Trust" too, doesn't make the USA godly either....as the German motto (through WWII, actually) was: "Gott Mitt Uns" (God With Us), and we see how much THAT meant to the Nazis.
I despise Obama too, but lets point out the (many) substantive problems he's causing, and not look for a bogey man behind every bush.
In fact, some day we'll elect a black President who is actually a Natural Born citizen, which our present POTUS is not.
I didn’t think I needed them — but I thought about it. Then I thought about it again and decided I really didn’t need them at this point.
We can only hope.
I wish I knew what’s on that birth certificate that he won’t just throw it down and tell everyone to FOAD. The alleged BC I saw on the internet was so bad that *I* could have forged a better one - whoever did that one didn’t even know what layers ARE, let alone how to do them.
It’s hard to believe he could really not be an NBC, and that Hillary! wouldn’t have known/used that. I think it must just be something really embarrassing that it would have made her look petty to disclose, without actually disqualifying him.
