The Obama Agnostic: Or how I lost my faith on the way to the next big compromise (Barf Alert)
Cape Cod Today ^ | December 7, 2010 | TRB

Is he going to give it all away? Are we going back to the Reagan years? Quick, are we still fighting someone in Central America?

This president has spent a lot of time talking about what he inherited from the town moron, but little time actually listening to the real people who put him where he sits today. From what I can see he sits in a chair called compromise. That's the chair in which he does all the compromising while the other side agees to release funds for unemployment checks - which they had to do anyhow, or the retailers would have taken a big hit over the holidays. When you don't have consumers, you have to make them.

Even Republicans know that.

So why did Obama agree to give the very wealthy two more years of large tax breaks - in the middle of a recession, in the middle of a war, in the middle of the worst unemployment crisis in a lifetime?

Does he really believe that these Republicans are compromising with him tit for tat? Because it looks to me and many others like they're just taking him to the cleaners. This is a very bad way for a president to look. One that looks like this probably won't be president for another term, unless Republicans run the dumbest woman in the world against him.

Last time I saw her, she was shooting a wild animal to death and receiving high television ratings, or was she chasing scared-to-death fish around in the back of a boat and smashing their heads in with what looked like an oar. I forget. But either way, she did not seem ready to compromise with these lower life forms.

So what has Obama compromised away? We could start with health care and the single-payer option, drugs from Canada, don't ask don't tell, bank regulations that regulate banks, telling the Defense Department to cool out. There's more. But the most important element of this is that Obama has to be reelected, and the only way for him to do that is to do something. Something other than compromise.

Yesterday, not for the first time I witnessed the sheer brilliance and evil of the Tea Party. I felt this way because the news media in America actually believe there is such a thing as the Tea Party that is totally independent of the right-wing Republicans. Of course no such organization exists; the Tea Party is simply a glance in the direction in which the entire Republican Party is headed

Incidentally, why did the Democrats let the Republicans get the jump on them with this Tea Party? Think of it, " The Bunker Hill Party," of progressives, swearing on their lives they have no affiliation with the Democratic Party. Is someone even bothering to work on this? Really, put someone on it.

The Tea Party is like a Hollywood movie screening. Or metaphorically, the Republicans are throwing a new car model out there for you to drive around and kick the tires. But it's still a Republican.

This makes watching television news a little weird. You have to constantly remind yourself that it is total propaganda as our TV journalists invent little dramas where Mitt Romney, Republican and Sarah Palin are actually different in their political beliefs. In fact the two could be rivals in a primary.

Well, I don't know about that, or the slaughtered fish, the fatally wounded reindeer, the gay soldier who has just been tossed from the service because John McCain got up on the wrong side of bed. The banker who just charged me $40 for an overcharge fee and is now going to inform me by mail, which means another service charge.

I don't know Palin, Romney, Huckabee. Gingrich, McConnell, or even the tanned guy. Although I have heard that the tanned guy is spending a little less time in the tanning bed between cigarettes.

Let's hear something about Barack Obama for a change. It should come from him. It should tell us what he's doing and what he hopes to accomplish by it. And it has to get here fast.

He sure has a knack for making enemies and ticking people off.

The author’s “thoughts” on Sara Palin tell us far more about the author’s deficiencies than hers.

I know Michael Savage has phrased it differently, but the left really are psychologically disturbed.

It's called preparing for dinner. Watch Top Chef on your favorite TV channel. Even they do it

Alas, the world is full to overflowing with disappointed Marxists, each and EVERY one of whom an imbecile who thought, “If we just did it RIGHT, it’d finally usher in the Great Socialist Utopia.”

Russians, Chinese, Vietnamese, Laos, Hungarians, Cubans, Poles and on and on... and now an enormous number of stunningly deluded Americans; they never quite seem to grasp that it’s the idiocy of Collectivism and Collectivists that’s to blame for their ills, and not the fact that “It wasn’t done right.”

That is the most hysterical thing I have read in a while. The guy is mad at everybody, and goes off like he’s playing whack-a-mole.

Then there’s this:

“...the Tea Party is simply a glance in the direction in which the entire Republican Party is headed...”

He writes that like it’s a bad thing, muhuhahahahahaha!

“Yesterday, not for the first time I witnessed the sheer brilliance and evil of the Tea Party.”

He means it, too. This guy would jail or slaughter the Tea Party for their beliefs in a heartbeat if only he could get away with it. If you do not believe that of this type of person you haven’t been paying enough attention to history.

And this guy tells us “The banker who just charged me $40 for an overcharge fee...”

The clown can’t even keep track of his own finances, and he wants the country to follow his economic advice? Next thing you know somebody will be proposing we have a Secretary of the Treasury who doesn’t even know how to use an income tax program relied on by tens of millions of tax payers!

"Quick, are we still fighting someone in Central America?"

Not yet, but we ought to be. This just in, Iran building missile base in Venezuela with missiles that can hit US. Feel the HOPE?

Correct me if I am wrong, but all those things Obama “compromised” away, wasn't that to other Democrats? Didn't the Democrats control both sides and could do whatever they wanted? How the heck is all of that the Republicans fault?
