Obama says vote on tax deal crucial, has potential to create 'millions of jobs'

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama says a congressional vote on the tax-cut deal he negotiated with Republicans will determine whether the nation's economy "moves forward or backward."

The president again pressed Congress to pass the agreement, saying it has the potential to create millions of jobs. He said if it fails, Americans would see smaller paychecks and it would result in fewer jobs.

This is a gigantic stimulus bill, with a small rider extending the current tax rates attached on the side.

ROFL! He knows damn well this won’t result in a better economy...in fact it will just get worse. He plans on blaming that on the GOP.

What a jerk! If the BUSH TAX CUTS are extended, it will keep things more or less as they are, instead of getting much, much worse.

So, true, it will probably help prevent the LOSS of several million more jobs.

Thank you, Bush. You were a big spender, and threw money around carelessly, but your tax cuts were good ones, well chosen and actually real, unlike most so-called tax cuts.

The Reagan tax cuts were the best, and the Bush tax cuts were second best. All the rest of them were basically frauds.

Doggone it! It’s not a tax cut in any way, shape or form. It is simply maintaining the tax structure that has been in place since 2003.

It ain’t a tax cut!

Dear Lord, the farce is becoming almost too much. What a corrupt fool this Obama is.

His party desperately desires to increase taxes during a Great Depression. Which of course, someone has finally told the Great Fool, will pull all the blinders off as the final supports give way...right during the start of his re-election campaign. Amazing what personal risk does to a politician. Even Obama can be made to see what the hell will happen when everyone gets a big pay cut next month.

All hell will break loose in the economy, which is exactly what his base (true communists and greens) wants - total collapse into mayhem, and they hope, finally true socialism and greentopia. No growth, forevermore.

And Obama isn't quite so personally reckless that he won't realize that this makes him the next LBJ...he can't run, the independents will join the conservatives and leave him grasping no more than a fifth of the total vote as the 20 percent leftist-green crazies run to Van Jones or Russ Feingold and the next Reagan landslide becomes inevitable.

Obama is weak and feckless - he courts the true crazy believers in 2008 and then his own policies create the crash they wanted...and the fool realizes then that what they all want finishes him electorally, not realizing it's way too late to run to the indedpendents for his own salvation. He's just a corrupt fool out for himself...like so many other garden-variety politicos.

You’re right and I am completely against this. I say stall, in January let the new house pass it without all the freebies for freeloaders in it. 13 months of unemployment? Are you kidding me? RIDICULOUS! Now the dimwit dims are adding more goodies to it. It’s a disaster.

So, did he say which part of this bill would create millions of jobs? If it’s the tax break for the ‘wealthy’ part it would appear that he’s been dead wrong all along.

By the way, the 2% reduction is SS seems like a really bad way to go, given that SS is going broke.

We still seem screwed.

If extending the current tax rates will create millions of jobs, why did they wait till the last moment to act on them. I think they have put their foot in a giant trap with this one. So they could have done this last year and didn’t? They have been saying for two years that the bush tax cuts caused the recession and now extending them is going to help get us out. Ayyyeeee! talk about twisting yourself into a pretzel.

More evidence this dunce couldn't run a lemonade stand on his own. The "tax deal" probably will net few jobs, but it will prevent serious harm to the already bitched up economy, and in that sense probably save many more.
