LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. — It was just another suburban fender-bender. A car zoomed into an intersection and braked too late to stop at a red light. The Georgia woman driving it, an American citizen, left with a wrecked auto, a sore neck and a traffic fine. But for Felipa Leonor Valencia, the Mexican woman who was driving the Jeep that was hit that day in March, the damage went far beyond a battered bumper. The crash led Ms. Valencia, an illegal immigrant who did not have a valid driver’s license, to 12 days in detention and the start of deportation proceedings — after 17 years of living in Georgia.
Like Ms. Valencia, an estimated 4.5 million illegal immigrants nationwide are driving regularly, most without licenses, according to an analysis by The New York Times. Only three states — New Mexico, Utah and Washington — currently issue licenses without proof of legal residence in the United States.
Many states have adopted tough new laws to prevent illegal immigrants from driving, while expanding immigration enforcement by the state and local police. As a result, at least 30,000 illegal immigrants who were stopped for common traffic violations in the last three years have ended up in deportation, Department of Homeland Security figures show. The numbers are rapidly increasing, aggravating tensions in the national debate over immigration.

Driving without a license, no insurance, very common for illegals to drink and drive & flee.Any time someone with no legal right to drive does put us all in danger.Otherwise we would not need licenses.Just you be hit by an illegal and see how much help you get.
I think illegals should use only public transportation, something the NY Times love to push.
I see nothing wrong with deporting people who are found to be here illegally.

I must say, seeing The Times use the term “illegal alien” represents a sea change, in sentiment. Can there be hope & change ? Not holding my breath, here, but sometimes, progress is measured in inches.....
Way back in 1985, when I worked all year at a fast food restaurant to buy my first car, it was totaled less than 2 months later. An illegal alien ran a stop light at a major intersection, swerved to miss on coming traffic, jumped a curb, across the sidewalk, went through the del taco sign, and some bushes until he finally plowed into the car I worked long and hard for.
He had no license, nor insurance, the police did nothing, just let him go. Oh, he did say “Really sorry ‘bout ‘jo car mang”.

I’ve heard too many similar stories. The illegal is usually drunk as well and still gets off scot-free. They don’t want to have to deport them.

Illegal ran a red light, T-boned me. No English, no DL, only a state-issued ID card, no insurance. Total loss. Police shrugged.
Week later, got a call from her lawyer. She was threatening to sue me!

I advise you to be careful..Your post could be considered or defined as a hate crime, and you could be ruined and jailed regardless of color of the alleged victim.
Some whites hate other whites because of their noses, ugly features, bulbous eyes etc....
