A 23-year old, poverty-stricken young woman who appeared in newspapers and on TV around the world when she was filmed by a cameraman inside North Korea died of starvation in October, it has been revealed.
The woman, who appeared in a KBS special program, North Koreas Third Generation Succession: Who Is Kim Jong Eun? alongside global media including the BBC(UK) and Asahi TV(Japan) amply demonstrated the dire straits in which some North Korean people live. Reduced to rags following the death of both her parents, she said she wandered the fields looking for grasses.
Speaking with the cameraman, who asked what she planned to do with the grass, the girl, who admitted that she also slept outside, said, Im going to eat it.
Speaking with The Daily NK today, Asia Press said, According to Kim Dong Cheol, who interviewed the girl in South Pyongan Province while he was doing some research inside North Korea in June, she died on or around October 20th.
It was discovered that, without a home, she had been wandering in the market and on the streets, before dying in a corn field, the Asia Press spokesperson explained, Since then was harvest time, she went there to eat corn but seems to have died of starvation.
Her body was apparently already decomposing by the time it was found, but the local Peoples Safety Ministry agents were in no hurry to deal with it because she did not have any family, so it was left for a long time.
According to Asia Press, The chaotic situation caused by the currency redenomination in November last year has caused an increase in kotjebi numbers across the country, and in some regions there have been people dying of starvation. She was also a victim of that impractical plan.
AND, General "Fat Boy", junior, the "Youth Captain"??
He will be stuffing his fat lard ass tonight in Pyongyang, if not along with Daddy on a visit to Beijing eating all the Peking Duck and xieu mai that his large intestine can handle.
A lot of people living in this country right now are calling in to conservative talk shows and asking the same question. “What’s wrong with socialism and communism?” They won’t bother reading this.
How does a country like North Korea manage to maintain 24 million bodies?
Their brains don’t function properly.
They know that North Korea is communist and it’s a horrible place. They just think that a little bit of socialism here and there is beneficial to all.
And the idiot liberals are fighting like hell to promote, support and advance socialism & communism in this Country.
They have no idea of what they wish.
That is sad. Beyond words.
I bet starvation is the main cause of death in NK too
I have a question..WHY THE HELL DIDN’T THE NEWSPEOPLE WHO INTERVIEWED HER FEED HER?
Exactly. They think America can be a Marxist/socialist/communist state and still continue to be the same place that it has always been except everything will be “free”. “There’s no intelligent life on this planet.” - Star Trek
Remember Socialists and commies "care" about people
This truly saddens me and makes me wonder why the leftist here want that kind of power, I mean the power to starve this poor woman death, is what progress is?
This was filmed during an undercover mission. Probably by another N. Korean, who also has to watch his/her back. Not sure he/she gave her something to eat.
- They have no idea of what they wish.
But they do. They just think they will be the ones in charge with a nice little dacha and plenty of borscht.
That is the perfect question. The sad part is the answer is that they are liberals- they claim to be compassionate but really they are apathetic. It just doesn't occur to them. They are too busy asking why someone else doesn't do something while they munch on a snicker's bar in front of a starving young woman.
Are there no prisons? Are there no workhouses?
