(CNN) - Members of the Westboro Baptist Church announced Thursday plans to picket Saturday's funeral for Elizabeth Edwards in Raleigh, North Carolina.
The Kansas-based Church - monitored by anti-hate groups such as the Anti-Defamation league and the Southern Poverty Law Center - is known for its extremist opposition to homosexuals, Jews and other groups.
The church members also oppose the War in Iraq.
According to the church's website, members will hold a protest from 12:15 p.m. to 1 p.m.

That's not out of realm of possibility (though I personally prefer to use the term "homosexual" rather than "gay" -- since "gay" is a perfectly fine word co-opted and twisted by sexual deviants).
I actually watched a few of the videos on the Westboro website. One thing they all have in common is that each of them ends with a woman (one of members presumably) smirking as she makes the final point.
It's almost as if they're doing this all of this as a sadistic goof or parody. It's almost like a form of guerrilla street theater, an "artform" favored by crazy leftists, including the Westboro cult.
It is remarkable how this traveling tumor of Hell Spawn can unite Freepers and the most rabid left wing loons in our collective desire for a miserable pox on their house...
Good question! Considering their intense hatred of homosexuals, they sure obsess about them quite a bit don’t they? Maybe some kind of projectionism going on? Also I cannot help but wonder if they’re really nothing more than a bunch of poseurs put up to this schtick by some lefty orginizations or George Soros or any of the other usual suspects. Someones perverted idea of discrediting the religious right? As I said in another post about these a$$holes, it’s interesting how they’ve NEVER shown up at any soldiers’ funerals in Harlem, Compton, Camden, Newark, Detriot, etc. Gee I wonder why? /s Hey, maybe ASSange and his playmates can do some good for once in their pathetic lives and “wiki” some dirt on this so-called church.

The Southern Poverty Law Center is becoming a hate group in it's own right, opposing and denigrating anyone or any group right of Lenin.
Because they know there will be heavy press coverage.

I still find it hard to believe that these folks are even authentic because they act like street theater or like some over the top SNL or Mad T V skit plot.
I don’t agree with her but my view is whatever her sins are, that’s between her and God.
And people who have no respect for the dead have no fear of God. I’d stay from them.

No matter someone’s beliefs, people never used to treat one another with such mind-numbing disrespect.

I think protesting any funeral is absolutely reprehensible. Good for you for taking a stand against these people.
I'm kind of partial to burning them at the stake, or boiling them alive in hot oil.

For crying out loud, what's their rationale? That she was a "sinner", and they ARE NOT? They set themselves up as God like this, and I can say without any hesitation, that game dont play too well and they are in for one horrid surprise.
Even if they called her a "sinner" destined for hell, who are they to say what kind of private conversation she may have had with her Creator in the final moments.
These people are clearly from the nether world, from the dark side, they are handmaidens and handbastards for the Evil One himself, one feels. I better leave it there, there is much more I could write.

Prayers for the Edwards Family - i do not agree with their brand of politics. Mrs. Edwards does not deserve this treatment. Westboro is actually acting like the parasites that they are.
(opportunists whom thrive off the death of others to make a political statement that has no reflection on the person whom has passed away in that persons beliefs, values and principals).
