UN and Planned Parenthood seek to decriminalize willful HIV infection

A new campaign seeks to eliminate disclosure laws which require HIV positive individuals to inform their sex partners of their potentially deadly infection.

The campaign is led by the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) and UNAIDS, an umbrella group of UN agencies. Notably absent from this campaign is any recognition of the danger posed for the possible victims of a willful refusal to disclose HIV status.

As part of the campaign, IPPF released a collection of interviews entitled “Behind Bars”, which implies that such criminal laws fuel stigma against HIV persons. Proponents of criminal laws assert, however, they are designed to help protect and prevent sexual partners from contracting a potentially deadly virus.

Seeing something like that changes a person.

And it didn't have to happen. If society were to once again shun such behavior, it would be virtually non existent. Those who still engaged in it would be put back into the mental institutions where they'd be monitored and kept safe from themselves and others.

Well, the family patriarchs were never told about the guy, lest they up and kill him.

True story. The guy ripped lives apart.

But seeing him like that was a sad, horrible thing all the same.

But boy, he could make you laugh until your side ached.

My son was gone from home less than year when he acquired HIV. He was immediately given an AIDS diagnosis because of his labs, and AIDS defining diseases.
We were called to the hospital while he was acutely ill. He looked procisely as you have described. He looked like roadkill, too weak to open his eyes, and having a real hard time breathing.
He was home with us one year adjusting to HAART, and regaining strength. The real killer was when he left home the second time, and sunk lower than ever.
I do not know how anyone could see your relative, or my son and wish this stuff on their worst enemy. I do not know why we do not have a major outcry against this plague on our people.

I’ll be honest with you, but I think we’re about to go through a winnowing out of the weak and the strong coming through. Which to be blunt is as it should be. We’ve held of natural selection for too long.

Because it's a behavior that spreads it. Stop the behavior, and the disease will eradicate itself, but our lost society won't do that. The homosexual lobby has a lot of financial power.
As long as it stays within the homosexual community, it's not a big issue like cancer. If people knew a certain behavior was responsible for all cancers - most people would stop doing it.

“I believe we should go the other way, anyone found to be HIV positive should have their privates dyed a dark purple”

If you managed to convince them that it would be a sign of pride of having the disease, that would be entirely possible.

I’m sorry you had to go through that. I just don’t know what to think when I hear stories like yours. Put frankly, if I could, I’d cure that disease. Some might think it’s a justifible punishment, but other innocents get that disease too.

Reverse psychology, heck it works with little kids and mental patients so I guess it would probably work here too...

We are Christians. We homeschooled our sons. My son is an Eagle Scout. He was a university senior when he left all for sodomy. I love my son with all my heart. But....
While he was very sick, losing his hair, enduring bizarre side effects from HAART, he was his old self, the delightful son we use to know, and he was very sorry for what he had done to himself.
Once HAART “restored” his health, he felt there were no consequences for his behavior. His physicians tell him will live a normal lifespan...
I am saying this as his mother who give both legs to see my son restored. I wish he had stayed sick, and very conscious the consequences. I wish he had died while he was still the person I knew. I know how brutal that sounds, but removing the threat of death has not been a mercy. If I actually saw him again, looking like roadkill, in the hospital, would I really want him dead? Absolutely not. Just trying to communicate how hellish all this is.

The plague is homosexuality (sodomy). HIV/AIDS is just one of the consequences.

When you think about it, all we have to do is convince some Hollywood idiot it’s a new way of ‘disease pride’ and then start a fashionable movement. The morons are all for fashionable movements that brag about immorality.

You’re being a responsible parent and person when you feel this way, wanting to be brutal. A lot of parents hate seeing their kids suffer, but rescuing them from themselves is the height of irresponsibility. It’s not a good idea to love them so muc hthat you can’t hold them responsible for their actions.

How about we decriminalize murder of UN or PP officials too? I mean, we don't want to discriminate against anyone’s fetishes, do we?

I love it! You are so funny!

"Yes, I have an uncontrollable orientation to plant toxins into the salads of UN officials. Do NOT diss my "lifestyle, you racist!""

...At one time, health authorities used to look for Typhoid Mary or her equivalent, and if necessary put them away to keep them from spreading communicable diseases and starting new plagues. Nip these deadly plagues in the bud.

My mind flashed on Typhoid Mary, too, so I did some research on her.

(Typhoid) Mary Mallon was born in Ireland in 1869. It's theorized that her mother transferred the bacteria to her at birth. At the time the concept of a "carrier" (someone who could spread disease without actually getting it themselves) was not well known. Typhoid Mary proved the concept by infecting hundreds and killing scores while working as a cook. She was quarantined but later freed on the promise she would no longer prepare food for others. She broke her word, started another outbreak, and was recaptured. They locked her up for life, and she died in captivity in 1938.

Seversl NYC statutes were cited in her quarantine commitment procedings, wonder if they're still on the books? Anyway, the case proves that at one point in time, it was legal to restrict behaviors or even imprison people for the medical safety of others. Wonder what happened to that idea?
