Man, boat flying foreign flag with Arabic lettering wash ashore in restricted area of Cape Canaveral

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - A man is sitting in the Brevard County jail mostly because won't say who he is, or what he was doing when he beached a boat north of Port Canaveral. He's been given the name "John Doe" after he gave several name that couldn't be verified. The man also couldn't prove he owned the boat and wouldn't tell authorities where he was going.

The boat was also flying under a foreign flag with Arabic lettering, but sheriff's investigators wouldn't say which country it might be from.

He was not offshore. He was in a part of the Banana River and within a very short distance from the Space center and launch pads. I think a shuttle is sitting on the pad right now.

you may be 100 percent correct. I heard there was a problem with the external tank concerning cracks in covering. Would the shuttle be moved off the pad for repair of external tank? I do not know the answer, or I would not ask.

is there any way you could make positive ID of person you saw around St. Augustine via scars, eyes, hair, tattoos, or any other means? Sounds like this may be the same person. Do you know how long this person has been in your area?
