Democrats made gains in Calif., but can they fix the Golden State?
Washington Post ^ | Dan Balz

SACRAMENTO - In the Year of the Republicans, California is the great exception. Whatever force hit the rest of the country in November stopped at the California border. Democrats won every statewide office on the ballot. They increased their already hefty majority in the State Assembly and maintain a sizable majority in the Senate. Their congressional delegation remains intact, as well. For Democrats, that is cause for celebration, given the battering they took almost everywhere else. But it is also cause for sober reflection. Are they up to the task of governing?

If they had the will or inclination to fix California they could have done so ages ago.

If the democrats can “fix” California, I may have to switch parties. What little Arnold did try to do to fix things was mostly deep-sixed by the Rats.

Only if you define “governing” as making extravagent promises that you can’t possibly keep while piling up debt and ruining institutions that once worked in the process. If you define governing as actually solving problems, then the answer is NO.

Ahnuld caved on everything, including the car tax. He was not even a bad RINO. He is a full fledged DemocRAT. Charlie Crist probably coached him.

My state’s government doesn’t so much need a bankruptcy trustee as it needs Dr. Drew Pinsky.

Yep. This is a one party state, and it ain't gonna change. It's gone. Mexicans vote 70% Democrat. Are you listening Texas? You're next.

The Republican party can thank Arnold Schwarzenegger for its losses in California. All the bad liberal policies passed, of course, were blamed on him and the Republicans, setting the party back a decade in the state.

Moral of the story: Don't vote for liberal Republicans. They do more damage than Democrats.

It’s too bad there’s no such thing as a twelve-step group for effed-up governments.

I don’t know what everyone’s so worried about. Governor Moonbeam has had plenty of practice.

‘Mexicans vote 70% Democrat. Are you listening Texas? You’re next.’

It’s not the Mexicans. A lot of Mexicans hate the democRATs as much as anybody else. They loved Bush. “Bless him’ one guy I know said to me.

The fact is that the two major urban areas of L.A. and San Francisco carry so many votes now, they can fairly crush any Senatorial or Gubanatorial candidate. That is why Boxer beat Fiorina, and Boxer is horrible. All the government unions who employ the majority of people in the state have a lock on our electorate. We have to pay their inflated salaries, their bloated pensions, and for their bosses. The communist infiltration into our body politic would make George Soros proud. Don’t blame ‘the Mexicans, there is plenty of blame to go around.

LOL, are they kidding? You mean they went from 90% democrat to 100% democrat? Just in time to watch the entire state circle the bowl before being flushed down?
