It’s no wonder Republicans aren’t either...only 1 in 20 is a Republican. :-(

The NFL is currently hauling in 3 billion dollars a year from the TV contracts. Damn right driven by TV.

Want free tickets, be at the Ford Field box office at 9 AM.

BTW, Lions won 7 to 3.

Then they can’t build the strcuture. You can’t build buildings that collapse under snow load. That is what they do with inflatable structures, OK?

The building didn't collapse, they de-inflated it as a safety precaution.

There are thousands of these kinds of structures all across the country, few, if any, have the enormous financial backing needed to melt the snow that may accumulate on the surface.

"The building didn't collapse, they de-inflated it as a safety precaution."

If so that would have been wise. But that's not what the headline says, and not what this picture shows

Here’s a fun video from 1969. The Vikings and how they played and dealt with the weather. (Bud Grant banned heaters, shoveling snow off the markers, etc..)

The game may be moved to another dome somewhere..Detroit, St. Louis, or Indy. Giants did not bring long undies so can’t play outdoors at TCF stadium (UofM stadium).

This stinks to high heaven. The airport's open -- fly in cold weather gear, open up the $300 million taxpayer-funded stadium at the U of M and make the Giants play outside.

Since the dish has not actually collapsed during a hugh storm since the 80’s and the 90’s brought us a Halloween storm with the largest snowfall in the recorded history, then this time they did something different.

BTW, my understanding was this was actually a light snow, not a wet heavy one so what stuck should not have been excessively heavy. Did they get a lot of ice in a lull that made it stick to the dome? Still working at digging out completely around here. LOL

The poor Vikings. First they become the latest victim of Brett Favre, now this.

That's how football is meant to be played, no wimpy domed stadiums and artificial turf....meh!

I don’t know if they had ice first, like the southwestern part of the state did. There were also heavy winds which would have added to the load, but who knows.

It’s way too cold here to play football outside anyway.

Huh?

Freezer Bowl
Jan. 10, 1982 - Riverfront Stadium - AFC Championship Game: Cincinnati Bengals vs. San Diego Chargers
Air temperature: −9°F (−23°C)
Sustained Wind: 27 mph
Wind Chill: −37°F (−38°C)

(Note bare-armed Bengals)

Ice Bowl
Dec. 31, 1967 - Lambeau Field - NFL Championship Game: Green Bay Packers vs. Dallas Cowboys
Air temperature: −13°F (−25°C)
Wind Chill: −36°F (−42°C)

Let's get rid of domes.
