WikiLeaks not only has to fend off attacks from the outside, it also has dissension from within to grapple with, as former staffers have branched off to form their own whistleblower platform, Openleaks, expected to go live Monday.
The Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter published an account of the upcoming launch, using information from an unnamed source.
It quotes that source: "Our long term goal is to build a strong, transparent platform to support whistleblowers both in terms of technology and politics while at the same time encouraging others to start similar projects."

Bump.
It’s tough to keep anarchists together.
What happened to Assange’s “Insurance Policy”?
The encryption code hasnt been released.
It’s supposed to be released if Assange is killed or if WikiLeaks is shut down. Neither has happened yet.
Didn’t he, at first, threaten to release the code if he were arrested?
All of these Leak sites need to stopped.
They aren’t dealing with hollywood gossip. They are dangerous and can get people killed.
“The two sparred late summer over Assange’s investigation of a “serious security breach” of internal conflicts within WikiLeaks being published in Newsweek, while Domscheit-Berg tried to question him over details about WikiLeaks agreements with the media over the release of the Iraq War logs.”
Sounds like OpenLeaks is not happy with Assange making GW Bush look good releasing the Iraq War info. Methinks OpenLeaks is the more Liberal, more Globalist of the two “Leaks”
I knew this was coming.
How are you going to do that? Maybe the Government should guard confidential information more carefully. Maybe Government employees should be fired and/or jailed for letting this happen. But the information is out there and it's not coming back. The horse has already left the barn in the current leaks, no matter how hard you slam the door.
It would be interesting if Openleaks and WikiLeaks leaked each other’s secret internal information.
whistleblowers both in terms of technology and politics.
When you rat out someone sleep with one eye open.Bet Japan wishes Wikileaks was around during WW two.
